True, but lets wait until the games are over before we call them a failure. I am not sure of this but even with our higher medal count I still don't think we lead in the amount given out.

All day I looked forward to watching the speed skating with Apolo Anton Ohno...I can't believe he didn't qualify in the 1500. I am really shocked. And what really sucks is that he did it to himself. He was skating a clean skate and tried to move into first when he didn't even have to - 2nd would have qualified him. :x

the story about rahlves is crazy - not sure what he was thinking. looks like the top of the course is a lot harder today than in training - must have been a cold night. I'm just watching it now. Makes me want to take tomorrow off!

6'3" 230LBs of pure power going down that hill. I have no have idea why they were switching skis so often right before the race.

I have the perfect build for downhill - too bad my family moved from Zurich to Chicago when I was 4.

wow, the downhill is just awesome. you gotta love a race determined pretty much by who has the most guts. walchofer was completely out of control.

I enjoyed watching that as well. I liked how they were able to show the side by sides of the gold and silver medalists and show how the gold medalist did better on that first jump. It was very interesting to see.

If that's the perfect build, I might be just a little too tall, but right about that weight.

I think I could downhill - my shoulders are too big for slalom.

wow, bode really choked. his last two jumps killed him. you can't lose half a second in the last quarter.

You're an hour behind me, have you seen the run by Rahlves?

just watched it. I feel bad for him. At least he gets to go home to a pretty wife. man, I have to go skiing now.

If I didn't try and be so pretty going down the hill, I would try and go faster, but I'd rather keep my knees and boots locked together and turn often.

The people I ski with tend to go for more speed rather than style.

Skiing is the only event I really find interesting, not really the moguls, just the super G and downhill. Slalom doesn't interest me too much either.

the thing about the moguls is you have to have tried to ski moguls to truly appreciate how hard what they are doing is - they make it look so easy. just watching makes my quads burn. I don't like events with judges in general. go fastest, jump farthest, leave the judges out of it. that goes for summer and winter games.

I'm with you now. Mostly I like to hit varying terrain and snow conditions and work through it. bombing powder is a blast and glade skiing is a lot of fun. on the flatter runs I go for technique.

dear lord, this story about going headfirst into a treewell is terrifying.

Yeah, I can't handle the moguls like that. My knees don't operate like that. After two runs of moguls out west, I'm shot for the rest of the day.

yea, I'll usually go cruise a blue or two after a mogul run. If you ever make it out here again, we'll have to hit birds of prey at Beaver Creek - you pretty much have no choice but to go fast on that thing.

I like to mix it up as well, give me a couple of blacks and mix it up with a blue cruiser or even a green if I'm burnt.

Of course, blue runs in Colorado are blacks in the Midwest.

At A-Basin, you like that bowl on the left side of the hill as you're looking up at mountain?
