The Jets are releasing Ty Law.

A lot of people are pushing for depth in the secondary, Law would clearly add that at cornerback. He'll come at a pretty steep price and he isn't getting any younger, but he's still a very good CB.

I would absolutely be interested in Ty Law if he's available for a reasonable price. He wasn't great at the start of the season but as the season went on he played better and better. That Jets secondary was good and he was one of the reasons why. I think he'd be a great get if we could get him.

Law has never been at a reasonable price.

Buzz kill...

Has anyone else heard the rumors that the Bears are interested in Kellen Winslow, Jr.? I don't think they are very substantial(the rumors) but for the sake of this discussion, would you give up a 2nd for him? Do you think it's possible to get him for a 3rd considering the Vikings are rumored to be asking for a 2nd for C-Pepp?

I'd be willing to take a chance on Winslow for either a 2nd round or a 3rd round pick (third would be preferred). In the small amount of time that he has played, I believe he has done very well.

We need at TE, a number 2 WR/KR/PR, and another CB preferably a veteren.

TE=Fasano the Notre Dame guy or the Virginia guy are supposed to be late 1st round picks

CB= no idea we'd need to make a trade or hope for a free agent i dont know whos avaiable

WR/KR/PR or QB  = Atoine Randle El

Thats what im hoping in the offseason

I agree with your assessment. If we get Randle El, draft a tight end such a Lewis, Fasano, or Pope, and then in the second and third rounds concentrate on CB and linebacker depth, I'd call it a great offseason.

It looks like Brees isn't going to be in SD next year. If the Bears don't go after him I will be genuinely upset.

I just came here to post about this. I like Grossman, but this is a move that needs to be made.

I don't know how good he'd be without LT.

But he's a QB with experience...and no matter how much we like Grossman, it's something he doesn't have.

How about a Purdue QB monopoly? heh.

Fixed. That's my concern.

I think it's both, LDT is a great pass-receiving RB and a great fall-back option.

I'd stay away from Brees. That injury he suffered looked career ending. It remains to be seen whether his shoulder will ever be the same.

It will be interesting to see if any NFL team will offer him a big deal considering his current status.

Okay, I sorta cheated. My location made it much more easy for me to remember it.

Yeah I'd forgotten as well. So if no team offers him a "big" deal, offer him a smaller one. Let him back up Grossman as he rehabs. We know Grossman will go down quickly anyway.... :P

Heh, the reason why I am not interested in Brees.

Man did Marty screw up not starting Rivers in a meaningless game.

I meant the Goergia TE Pope my bad i couldn't think about it off the top of my head. Yeah first off Randal El told Bores and Burnstein that what a top his teams if he doesn't resign ( thats orgasmic if he doesn't resign). Law i'd love he's the type of guys we need at the number 1 CB spot over Peanut. Law at CB,Vasher, and the Nut at the 3 nickleback CB looks very nice. Law is very expensive though so thats the only downside.

I see Grossman as a poor man's Brees. If he stays healthy and gets a great weapon like Brees has in Gates, I would expect similar production.

Agreed. Which is why I personally believe tight end is the way to go in the first round. If we can get any production out of the tight end, it would open up the field more for Moose, Berrian, Gage, and Bradley. Man I am excited about the thought of the Bears having an offense that can scare teams.

I have somewhat shifted my draft philosophy, ideally if Pope is there, he would look very good as the Bears starting WR. I'm not the biggest fan Randle-El and he'll likely be overpaid, but he's a good #2 WR on a team that needs one.

At this stage... If everything fell into place.

TE

OLB

DB

K

FB

OT

QB

Likely in that order.
