Yes, Vince can throw a ball. I'd say 2700+ yards at 64% for the #2 team in the nation is pretty darn good (including going for 270 vs OSU). Anywho, he doesn't have the best arm in the world by any means, but he's sure as hell a better QB than to be compared to Randle-El of all people.

you must have never seen randle-el in college.

i hadn't seen much of young until tonight...man, is he amazing. i'm pretty meh on leinart.

If I were an NFL GM, I would take Young over Leinart without a nanosecond of hesitation.

How do you suppose he'll fit into an NFL offense? You'll have to design a scheme for him to maximize his talents.

I'm not sure, but I'll take the more talented player. I think Leinart is good, but a product of a good system rather than a great QB.

That's what they said about Montana.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Leinart is no Montana. To be honest, I think Carson Palmer is better right now than Leinart will ever be. I'd like to see how Matt would do without Reggie Bush in the backfield.

I saw him quite often.

Leinart runs a pro style offense for Pete Carroll. This isn't some goofy college scheme like the spread offense where he's putting up gaudy numbers.

He has a pro arm as well. He has very good accuracy (as shown on a drive a while back where he's just putting it in perfect spots when Texas DB's are all over the play).

he looks a lot like him so far in the 2nd half. randle-el was unstoppable in college and had virtually no players to help him. he was absolutely an amazing one man show.

And he's surrounded by a ridiculous amount of talent. I'd bet that if you give him an average college back and just above average recievers, you'd see a big difference in the results. Reggie Bush is the catalyst in this offense, not Leinart.

he's no peyton manning, but I think he could be very successful in the right situation.

Carson Palmer had a few good players around him as well. Granted, he didn't have Bush, but Leinart didn't have this same Reggie Bush a couple of years ago. Leinart is good and will be good in the NFL.

Enough of the Reggie Bush-Harry Potter crap, Dan Fouts.

Yeah, compare him to someone more comparable, like Jesus.

he truly is bathed in the aura of kent

Bush is an incredible player, but I guarantee you that having to respect the pass as they do makes Bush better as well. Leinart has what pro teams look at. You simply cannot deny that. He has the arm for the NFL. He has the great decision making. That instinct comes with having to make some very difficult throws for the last few years. He has enough mobility to escape pressure, not great mobility, but enough. And he's very accurate.

Bear in mind, guys like Danny Wuerrfel, Chris Weinke, Ken Dorsey were putting up gaudy stats with incredible talent around them, but there's things that scouts can see in their play that separate them from the rest of the field.
