looking forward to the 14th/15th. today's game was terrible, forget it and move on.

Today was a pre-post season game, nothing else. Health was #1 priority for key players & the Bears accomplished that.

I believe the lower seeded teams usually face off on Saturday.

Bump.

Blake should be the #2 QB.

Discuss.

Although NORMALLY I wouldn't say a quarter or two of play is enough to determine ANYTHING, I think you've said all that needs to be said in this case. Nothing to really discuss.

AP[/url]"]LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears signed offensive lineman Roberto Garza to a six-year contract extension Monday.

The guard and center appeared in all 16 games and started seven after signing a one-year deal with the Bears last March.

I agree that it was a good move. The thing I wonder about is the fact that it is a 6 year deal. Hopefully they didn't give him too much per year. There were very serious injury concerns about him coming into this year. Something about him not having some sort of tendon in his knee.

6 year deals don't mean much in the NFL, they can cut him and not take a serious hit, the contracts in the NFL are usually gauged by the signing bonus.

He won't be on the Bears 6 years from now.

I would still use the 2nd rounder on the O-Line, probably OT. Use the 3rd on a WR.

Need an OT and a G from the draft, imo. I'd rather look at DB first over WR, especially with Azumah as a FA.

I think they have to bring Azumah back, they have 3 real good CBs, their priority should be bringing as many back as possible and have new starters at TE and K and go from there.

I think they have good depth at G with Garza, Brown, and Metcalf. But, they have older tackles w/Tait and Miller.

I have my concerns w/Bradley coming back as well as the potential of Berrian or Gage stepping up to be a legit #2 WR.

My draft order...

TE

OT

WR

K

FB

DB w/return skills

QB

You know, Hester declared for the draft today. :)

That said, I would go with

TE

CB

OG

OT

K

OLB

DE (speed rusher)

I put the DE up there cause I don't see much out of Haynes and I would like to see them get another speed rusher that can spell Ogunleye/Brown.

UK, why do you think we need another FB? I think that Johnson and McKie have done a pretty good job this year when they haven't been injured. I just don't think that is something we should waste a draft pick on.

Azumah has disappointed me some this year, but I agree DB is not much of a need if he's back. I can definitely see the reasoning with going WR first though.

Brown's pretty old too and seems to have an injury history - the main reason I want a G. I want depth at both G and T.

There's a FB I like from UW, who's probably the best blocking FB to come out in several years, Johnson isn't as good of a blocking FB as I'd like to see.

For me, if it comes down to St. Clair or Garza as the back T or G, I think Garza is a better back-up than St. Clair. But, if Gilles is there, I'd probably take him unless a T like Whitworth fell.

Agreed. Basically, the Bears have a few positions of weaknesses, but mostly positions where they need depth and many of them can be filled depending on how the draft unfolds. Nice position to be in.

By the way, I'm not interested in another developmental QB this year, especially with 2 young ones on the roster already. Why do you want another one?

Burnt, go with Briggs!
