Ohio St. is a good team. They came out strong. IU's shooting again was the key. The 3's fell in the 2nd half. We got a couple of pivotal calls. This team is still not playing their best basketball, as DJ and AJ are still not in the flow offensively.

And yeah, road wins are gonna be tough in the best conference in the country.

True and they will be pretty tough in the Big 10 too.

Check the RPI, baby!

You guys don't have the good ole boys to protect you like you do in football....basketball actually has a playoff.

We very well may have the entire Final Four this year! Last year with the "down" B10 accounting for half the Final Four and 3 of the Elite 8. The tourney is where we shine.

So how many Championships has the Big 10 won in the last 10 or 15 years? One decent year and you guys get a big head!

Anyone know where I can find Tourney results for the last 10-15 years? I'm pretty sure the Big 10 has the most appearances in the Final 4 of any conference.

And 1 title. You have to finish my man to be the King! Kneel before the great Big East Slaves!!!!

Michigan State went to the final 4 three years in a row and wont the whole damn thing in what '00 or '01. IU has gone to the finals. Illini has gone to the finals. Thats three teams in the last 6 years goin to the finals. Wisky to the final four in the same period.

While the Big East has had 3 teams WIN in 6 years.

2 teams does not a conference make. The B10 has had half it's conference make the Final 4 in the last 6 years. Has a team outside UConn or Syracuse made the Final 4 in the last 10, 15 years? Doesn't look like it unless it happened in 2003-2005.

This year when Villinova does it unless the refs decide to take another game away from them. :D

Wisconsin beat up Michigan State today. The Spartans are 0-2 in the Big Ten entering a midweek matchup with the Hoosiers. If IU can steal a road win MSU might be out of the conference title race before it really got started.

Villanova isn't in the Big Ten - why are we discussing them here? We need a Mod!

The Badgers have won seven of the last eight meetings with Michigan State.

Wow, I knew we had been tough on MiSt, but I didn't realize it was that bad. I was suprised it turned out the way it did.

I think we have found out that it's going to be tough to win on the road in the Big Ten this year.

Bo Ryan has got Izzo's number. Ryan is 7-1 against Izzo and there is no love lost between the two, dating back three years ago when a couple of freshman for the the Badgers (Tucker and Devin Harris) threw down an alley oop pass and dunk at the end of a game in which Wisconsin was winning handily. Izzo took exception with it and made some comments, but has never been able to do anything about it.

I was at the game and MSU looks horrible, other than Brown they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and halfway through the second half when they got down by 19 it looked like they just dropped their heads and quit.

Prediction or thus far? My prediction was that team sans Tucker, I didn't know who to put in the last spot.

CP, it would be for how you would pick them in a matchup with other conferences. Tucker's numbers are pretty solid. Nearly 19 and 5 a game while shooting 45 percent from the field (gotta improve from behind the arc and at the charity stripe though).

Tucker's a worthy choice no doubt. Despite my dunktastic sig, as of the moment I'd waver a bit on putting Ager in there. He's just flat out disappeared in two consecutive games. Brown has been the more consistent player, and while Ager was lighting it up earlier in the season, Brown was still getting his points, is a bit better defensively, and now has better shooting percentages across the board.

The forums on Peegs are saying that White re-broke (is that right?) his foot and will miss the rest of the season.

God, I hope this is some sort of sick cruel joke.

Davis really hasn't impressed either, especially after his 2 point performance on Sun. (although he did have 9 rebounds I think.) but Shannon Brown was unstoppable.

Davis wasn't that great Sunday, but I thought at least part of his trouble was getting in early foul trouble(which IMO were on a pair of ticky tack fouls, but that's life on the road, can't really blame Paul for it), and then Izzo never letting him get near the basket. Also, in the second half Davis would always be the pick man on the high pick and roll, the set would never let him get inside. Considering that, that he still had a decent game against Illinois, and that he's continued to be the best rebounder in the Big 10, I'll keep him on there.

It's somewhat true. Nothing about re-breaking his foot. Completely different injury, but yeah he's gonna be out for a while, I doubt we see him back this year.

MSU has a brutal Big 10 schedule. They play Purdue, Penn State, Northwestern, and Minnesota once each, and open Big 10 play with @ Illinois, @ Wisconsin, Indiana, and @ OSU. IMO, MSU is the best team in the conference, but they may not win it. I'll take them in the conference tourney and to go the farthest in the NCAA's though.

I usually pay no attention to college hoops until about the middle of February, but I took a glance this weekend. I will not take a stand and say they will win the conference, but I think Wisconsin stands more of a chance than everyone predicted. they only play Illinois and Indiana once, both at home. that alone should save them a couple of conference losses.

They are young, but don't underestimate Bo. really amazing what he has done considering he gets no out of state talent to come to UW.

Their two best players, Alando Tucker and Kammron Taylor, are from out of state. Taylor is from Minneapolis, MN and Alando Tucker is from Lockport, IL (Far SW Burb of Chicago).

Also, look at their recruting class: Mickey Perry and DeAaron Williams both from Illinois. Its nice that Bo is picking up the pieces in Illinois. Perry is a great athlete and a fine shooter. Solid college (not pro caliber) player. Admittedly I don't know much about Williams.

Williams just recently left the team, which is too bad. Rumor has it he was going to become academically ineligible and he was not happy with the amount of playing time he was getting. I hear he is transferring to Central Illinois and will possibly end up at Bradley.

Next years class includes a kid from NYC by way of Delavan, WI, a kid from Iowa and another 6'10" kid from the Wisconsin Dells area. Also this years recruiting class has highly touted Joe Krabbenhoft from North Dakota, and Marcus Landry from Milwaukee.
