It seems to me like Levine is kinda backing down off this a bit.... Though he still maintains there is a deal on the table.

Good. Here's hoping he keeps backing down...although I like how Levine keeps citing all sorts of nonsense intagibles that Tejada has.

Big surprise. He never does that.

Here is The overview:

-Levine says he never said it was a done deal, seems to beat around the bush a bit.

-Levine kisses the whitesox ass for no reason.

- Patterson would be involved in the deal to make it a little more even money-wise.

-The cubs would most likely take on ALL of tejada's contract

-Talks about how it would effect cubs in the division, says pitching a question mark (DUH)

-Says he doesnt think prior wants to leave here.

And now they have shifted the conversation to willie harris and the white sox, how typical.

I will say this, if Hendry trades for Tejada without giving up Prior or Zambrano, I'll take back every negative thing I've ever said about his work. And if he gets to keep Pie as well, I'll bow down to the shrine of Jim everyday.

I second this motion.

[ Brian Giles wasn't one of them.

No, Giles wasn't one of them. But, lifetime.......

At Busch Stadium: 1.169 OPS

At GAP: .971

At Miller: 1.000

At PNC: 1.046

At MMP: .915

At Wrigley: 1.173

Giles' road split in 2005 was a 1.008 OPS.

Would it have been worth it at all to offer up and pay Mr. Giles 15m a year for the next 3 years to beat up on the entire NL Central. Couple in the fact he has never had two guys like Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez batting around him at the same time.

You add Giles, pick up Pierre, fill out the bullpen and bam, got yourself a playoff team. No discussion of trading Prior, Furcal is a distant memory and even Dusty would have a tough time figuring out a way to mess up that line up.

But, as I have been reminded time and again, Giles didn't want 15m a year, he wanted to stay in San Diego.

I'm not a Sox fan and never will be, but they are the #1 team in Chicago right now and deserve to be talked about with all of the risky, yet potentially strong moves they made to remain the best team in Chicago. Chicago Sports stations should be talking about everything Williams has done and continues to do this offseason. If Levine needs to "kiss the white sox ass" to get his point accross then so be it. When the Cubs finally win the big one and make moves to ensure they stay on top, and not give excuses why they couldn't, then I will stand up and complain along with you.

He hates paying taxes.

I just think the teams he would have interest in didn't offer him that kind of dough. You couldn't blame him for wanting that kind of money to leave. His last contract was dirt cheap for the kind of production he offers.

Gotta agree with this, and I hate the White Sox. Though, I have always been a huge fan of Jim Thome. We Bartonville folks gotta stick together.

Trading Prior for Tejada is the dumbest move Hendry could ever make.

I wouldn't tempt fate by saying such things.

Oh no, thats scary.

true, but considering there are 10 cubs fans for every sox fan, you'd think they'd care a little more about their ratings.

Bartonville people definitely "stick together", that's for sure.

Nothin new really. Levine believes pitching would be to mch of a question mark to say whether we could compete for division. Called Tejada a top 3 to 4 player in the game.

I disagree with Leivne.

Haha, no kidding. This, however, provokes the question. who are your top five players in baseball?

For me its:

-ARod

-Vlad

-Johan Santana

-Miguel Cabrera

-Albert Pujouls

Not particularly in that order, but they most likely fill out the top five in my book.
