Giants signed infielder Jose Vizcaino, who had been with the Astros, to a one-year, $1.25 million contract.

We should have seen this one coming. Vizcaino, who hit .246/.299/.337 for the Astros last season, turns 38 in March and he played with the Giants about a decade ago, so he's the perfect Brian Sabean acquisition. He'll serve as a backup throughout the infield.

I'd make a joke but I'm sure every possible senior citizen joke that can be made about SF has already been made. I wonder what the record is for 35+ year old players on one team.

On the opening day roster, or over the course of a season?

If it's the opening day roster, I feel relatively comfortable in the fact that the Giants are going to have the record, if they don't already. But I wouldn't be surprised at all to see another team make some strange PR signings halfway through the season.
