    It is,I'm 45 and just laugh.I tivo'd this game and after the big inning just fast forwarded through Howry and Oh-man,you had to know what was comming.This is yet another,in a long,long line of for one reason or another we can't win games.The faces change,but not the Cubs truely pathetic to the end.

    If Dusty plays Macias in center one more time I'm hopping on the next plane to Chicago and I'm going to beat him over the head with a baseball bat,furthermore Hollandsworth in the same lineup ugh,this spells disaster.Maybe we should sign Grissom and then we'll have an outfield of Grissom,Macias and Hollandsworth and we won't have to worry at all about winning.Might as well send Murton back down to get some ab's or he will rot on the bench.This is a game of "what have you done for me lately"and Fricken Dusty keeps putting in washed up vetrans nobody else would even have on their team let alone play them everyday.Bring up the kids and start cutting these losers loose we don't need them and quite frankly they aren't getting the job done.And while I'm on the subject Burnitz is it just me or has anyone else noticed how after he swings he stands there like a statue with a puzzled look on his face like"oops I shouldn't have swung at that".These guys are bush league (or maybe bush league would be overstating their value) send them packing along with the ringleader.You would get more effort out of the kids than these bunch of quitters.

    I think he is really pressing,wanting to break out and not hear the boo birds.I think he should start swinging at pitches he normally wouldn't and lay off pitches he normally would swing at again, grasping at straws.

    I have given up on seeing his potential realized in a Cubs uniform but, find myself rooting for him evey time he gets up to bat.I want for him so bad to drive in a run or take a walk just break out of his slump.Yesterday when they showed him in the dugout after the game was over I couldn't help but feel sorry for him because you know he is trying and he wants so bad to do good.He's a good kid and early in the season I was all for getting rid of him but now wanting him to break out and succeed.And now with seeing what I have just written I'm really confused ???

    Even when he hit .251 in 2001 he still had 104 rbi's,Patterson has yet to achieve that! I guess we'll have to agree we disagree on this point.

Well with comments like Corey being the next comming of Beltran and Edmonds dives to much because he doen't get a good jump on the ball,and the one I love the most,Patterson is better defensivly than Edmonds,maybe you should go back!

    I don't you said "slap hitter" I just want him to hit something. Don't watch baseball much??Edmonds is known for his basket catches, over the shoulder,Patterson is not in the same league defensivly as Edmonds.Lets see Corey keep his fielding % up to .987 in another 600 games,won't happen. Yah Jones was hitting .303 with 104 rbi's.

    And he also has more s/o's! He might cover a lot of ground but more times than not he misses it,he'll never compare to Edmonds or Andruw Jones. Well good for you,Anybody that wants to bat 6th is never going to be anything close to Carlos Beltran. He should be developing his skills at the top of the lineup and not worrying about HRs. If his goal is to be a 6th hitter, his ceiliing is Reggie Sanders.

    You've got to be kidding,right?? The "5" tools Hitting for average-no Hitting for power-Thinks he's Sosa Fielding-average,doesn't make enough plays to be considered "great". Throwing-yes,not bad Baserunning-He doesn't get on enough to find out.
