Interesting. I agree with all of you nobody should be untouchable but maybe the scouts know something we don't? I doubt it but who knows.

This entire off-season has been about that, so far. It makes absolutely no friggen' sense what-so-ever. I think Hendry is trying to purge the people he wants off the team. He's succeeded in getting rid of Ohman and Jones. I also think that he's trying to get rid of Murton, Demp and Marquis and I don't have a problem with that as long as he acquires or signs people better than what he's purging. You can probably include Prior on his list of people he's trying to get rid of. Yup, forgot about him.

McLouth had a solid August and September but that's about it. Maybe he figured it out but I doubt it. I will say this though, I'd rather have him backing up Pie over Fuld. -
That's what I was going to ask...you all prefer Marquis or Dempster as the #5? Both are terrible, but I have a feeling Dempster will be worse than Marquis.

Take anything to get rid of him because if he stays, he will be worse than Marquis in a starting role.

DeRosa and Roberts have almost the same numbers save for SB's. Granted, 50sb's is nice but I was happy with the production we got from DeRo, esp in AVG and OBP.

I really wanted to see Murton be an every day player. He's struggled at times yes, but I feel that he didn't get a fair shake last year at starting. At this point, I don't care if we trade him as long as whoever we get to replace him will be an upgrade. As far as Hendry's comments, what else is new? Having a GM like him with his old school mentality is costing us.

In addition to his base salary, Izturis can earn $650,000 in performance bonuses: $100,000 each for 400 and 450 plate appearances, and $150,000 each for 500, 550 and 600 plate appearances. -

I don't suppose Hendry is bright enough to go for Randy Winn instead of Dave Roberts. I don't know how bad Roberts' contract is but if it means we get rid of Marquis, I'm all for it.

If they get Izturis, what would he do? .300 with 20 homers? Nothing can save Izturis. It doesn't matter what team he plays on, he will be terrible anywhere. -
So nothing new on the Fukudome front? I thought he was going to give an answer by thanksgiving?
