  1. Well then, the report looks more and more legit after another admission. And Roberts was the guy that some felt was unfairly added to the report.

Let's face it, he is coming off a serious shoulder surgery, who is to say he will even be close to what he was in 2003?
  3. I hope so. whats with the anti-Roberts vibe I have been hearing..is it Roberts himself, or what we would have to give up? It's what we would give up for a player who is a DeRosa with speed.
  4. Steal by Astros. Burke and Qualls.
  5. Pie and Gallagher for Roberts? Hendry would be a damn fool to make that trade. Roberts Murton Lee Fuku Ramirez Soriano Soto Theriot Just an idea. The lefties split up the righties (which I don't care much about but Lou seems to) and Lou has pretty much said Fuku will be in the middle of the order (I think he mentioned the 3 & 4 spots as the main possibilities, but I could be remembering wrong). I can guarantee you that Murton will not be a starter. They will not move Soriano from LF which complicates things. But I d like that lineup though.
  6. Pie and Gallagher for Roberts? Hendry would be a damn fool to make that trade.
  7. That's my most important requirement in any and all Cub acquisitions. Someone get Hendry on the phone. :D I know I am going to take some hits for that comment but it's cool. I can take it. Like I said, if they aren't a good player, doesn't matter if they are easy on the eyes. Good thing you are not the GM then :)
  8. Just curious, what makes one an "insider" on the Orioles Board? Do they ever indicate exactly who they "hear things from"? An Oriole offical? talk radio? some guy that knows some guy that knows .. . .? How reliable have you found these guys to be? No idea to be honest but it was mentioned in one of the threads that these guys are legit. They called the Tejada trade before it happened, that I'm sure about. As well as other trades that went down before they were public.
  9. I agree unless Hendry is determined to get another second baseman. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see that. After all, he was gunning hard for Matsui and Roberts. I think Hendry doesn't see SS as a hole and he's content with Pie in CF. Truth is, I want to see Pie start at CF, even if he struggles for 2 months. As far as Theriot, yes, he's not that good offensively but his Pecota numbers are actually decent and aside from Cedeno which is another question mark just like Theriot it will be hard to find an upgrade through trade. I love the idea of having Murton in Left, Fukudome in CF, and Soriano in Right, but we all know that isn't going to happen which downright sucks. I still would love a trade for Teahen, even if it will cost us prospects but I see no reason why KC would get rid of their guy when he can play the OF, DH, and 1B.
  10. According to one of the insiders on the Orioles board, he's heard that Roberts is staying now. I'm actually glad to hear this. Not because Roberts possibly has done roids or HGH but because he would be IMO a small upgrade over DeRo. That being said, the talent we were willing to give up for Roberts could be used for an upgrade elsewhere.
  11. I don't think he had that many choices.
  12. If we can improve the SP through trade I am fine with that. For the record though, I would rather see guys brought up from the system to pitch over having to watch Marquis and Dempster pitch for us. I have a feeling that both of them will have an ERA upwards of 4.80.
  13. Yes, I would too. But if found guilty what would the Cubs get back 50k? Peanuts.
  14. Well, Clemens and Bonds are the best pitcher and hitter of the last 20 or 30 years. No doubting that. But I was expecting other big names on the list.
  15. Most of these guys are scrubs. Considering how many players were called out, I think this report favors MLB. Sure, Clemens, Pettitte, Gagne, and others are in there but overall, most of these guys are not big time players.
  16. I'm guessing Karchner never saw Sosa do it. Sosa has managed to not be named in anything, so if he did it, he did it very discreetly. I could see Farnsworth easily. And Hill is in the report, so could be. Sosa was smart about it. He probably got his roids from the Dominican. Didn't he get robbed or lost 10k in cash once? I don't know the specifics.
  17. The real report is nothing like the one posted earlier. I'm surprised about Gagne but most of these guys were no-brainers to pinpoint.
  18. He signed a 1yr deal with the Twins per Rotoworld.
  19. I guess Hendry wants Cotts to take Ohman's spot.

  21. I truthfully didn't expect Wood and Prior on the list. Don't trade for Roberts Hendry!
  22. What Jim Hendry said: ^^^ What Jim Hendry meant: "I had no contingency plan. If we lost out on Fukudome, we were completely screwed." I remember him saying that if he couldn't upgrade through FA, he would do it through trade. He even said he was willing to give up prospects to get it done. We might not have liked who he traded for but I think he had a backup plan.
  23. You forgot Billingsley who I think is their 1 or 2 best SP. Schmidt, no idea what they are going to get out of him.
  24. I think if Prior wanted to come back, Hendry would have signed him. I don't blame Hendry on this one. Prior didn't want to be a Cub anymore. He wanted out of Chicago. Hendry did the best that he could to keep him here but I agree with him, after all the injuries Prior has had why would he only offer him a 1 year deal if he knew he would be as good as gone? It sucks that it ends this way but we don't know if Prior can come back from the surgery.
