  1. I'm so sick of Marquis. He had issues with the Cardinals because he was stubborn and didn't listen to his pitching coach when he was getting rocked. The sooner he's gone the sooner I will be happier.
  2. Sean and Kevin did pitch but they threw early at 0800. I will be in AZ next week. \:D/ Good to know. Thanks. Just curious, does Hendry know that Gallagher has increased his velocity and has looked really good out there? Maybe if he knows(he might already know so) he would be a lot more resistant to trade Sean.
  3. If true, Lou and Hendry must really like Fuld. If true, I hope it's only Pie for Roberts straight up. #-o Hart and Gallagher also did not pitch today. Don't know but If I hope it has nothing to do "trade related"
  4. Check my notes from Lou on the score. As of right now this is the lineup: Soriano Theriot Fukudome Lee Ramirez DeRosa Soto Fuld or Pie. The way Lou was talking up Fuld it sounds as though he might be the starter.
  5. Center field only position on the field open for competition Looking for 3rd starter to break two lefty starters, will also take care of 5th starter(Marshall has no chance if you ask me) Looking for a young arm to take Demp's spot. Lou saw Demp and lost weight and throwing the ball real well. He's a better pitcher now than he was with Florida(Fluff talk if you ask me) North asked him about Z being the only guy in the rotation that has high velocity. Lou responds by stating what other teams have more than 1 or 2 of those, our guys will throw strikes and location. Lou is very happy with rotation, depth, experience and so forth. Marmol is versatile starting in minor leagues and moved to bullpen. Lou says no question his arm is way ahead of the rest of the guys right now due to winter ball. Only problem with Marmol is just a little experience Howry, veteran pitched as well as anybody towards the end. Will look to change to have him start out of the gates strong Wood has done everything asked and he's looked great throwing the ball. Lou mentions never used Wood 3 days in a row must stay healthy to be successfull bullpen. Lou is looking for another righthander for bullpen already have guys in camp to compete. Lou sees Soriano in leadoff, Theriot in the 2 spot.playing idea with hitting Fukudome 4th Lee 5th ARam 6th DeRo Soto 7th 8th CF That would be the lineup barring trades. Wants not to have a lot of small guys towards the end of the lineup, more balanced lineup power wise. He's not saying for sure this will be the lineup but he's starting to think that way Fuld the type of kid the more you watch him says is baseball player grows on you. Pie changed his style a bit swinging the bat well. Watch Sam he is no slouch. Fukudome - cross between Ichiro with speed make contact and Matsui of Yanks with power. Talk about Soriano's leg, Lou surprised Soriano still having issues with the leg. It's been a long time should have healed better than it has. Cubs being cautious. If he can't run in 1 hole will be moved down to alleviate it. Lou mentions Cubs very right handed, says other opposing bullpens have advantage and not need to make moves because of it. Lou congratulated Ward in finishing his first full workout. Sounds like he is in bad shape. New field being a big advantage now. No more peaks and valleys on the field it was tough on players. Had a hard time seeing RF and 1B from dugout. One big concern is not real deep in areas. Lack of depth. Lou really likes team, has Cubbie swagger, there's a lot of that in this Cubs camp. North says Z is probably the one guy you can't afford to lose and Lou agreed. Lou also says we can't afford one of our power hitters. Can't classify Cubs as power team, has finesse to it. Lou really looking forward to a really nice end of spring training and into the season. HA HA HA - Lou said Milwaukee signed Gag Nee hahaha then corrected by North as Gagne. Lee looks wonderful working on increasing power. Looks to be in great shape.
  6. I'm so glad we got the bum out of here. Wallace was one of the worst contracts in Chicago history.
  7. I'd be ok with letting Berrian walk and sign Bryant Johnson to a contract.
  8. Bears cut Reuben Brown. Archuleta and Mike brown will probably be back. No word on berrian yet.
  9. Damn it. That's the guy I wanted us to sign.
  10. They said the same thing about Dotel too.
  11. if this is true, i can see angelo keeping archuleta if he's only costing them 730k. i'm for cutting him, for no other reason than to send a message to the organization. if you suck, you're gone. Archuleta at this point provides no value to the team. Maybe he could do something on special teams, but he essentially is unable to do anything that the safety position requires. I don't see either Angelo or Lovie wanting to hold on to crap because it's cheap. he's absolutely terrible, i'm just unsure why he wasn't cut yesterday. Not sure why he wasn't cut but at the same time I don't think these are the last of the cuts anyway.
  12. See you later Walker and Miller! =D> http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/huddleup/2008/02/bears-release-d.html
  13. Lewin has Brohm as the best QB of this draft: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/features/column.aspx?sport=NFL&columnid=60&articleid=29927
  14. Looks like the Orioles are looking at signing Cintron to play SS. If that's the case I doubt we would even be offering any deal with Cedeno in it. I also thought we were looking at signing Cintron as well. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/bal-sp.osnotes14feb14,0,987896.story
  15. I would rather have Booker here over the old Moose. Probably cheaper too.
  16. Feneca would be a nice addition, although pricey. good to see Angelo not ignoring the line finally. Say NO to Feneca! Isn't he already 32? The last thing we need is to make our line even older. No thanks, especially not at the asking price.
  17. I don't know if it was mentioend but Wahle got cut by the Panthers and it looks as though Carr and Deshaun Foster are next. Can Wahle still play?
  18. Well if peoriachiefs is insinuating that Gallagher is not one of the names on the list, then that makes me much happier.
  19. I'm just glad he's out of town. I was never in my life so frustrated by any manager than I was with him.
  20. Gotta wonder why no other teams have been mentioned for Roberts.
  21. So how many pitchers do the O's have to start? If they were looking to get a pitcher from us wouldn't that prevent them from signing a scrub like Fogg? Just wondering that maybe the deal on the table might be for more offensive talent or a pitcher not on the 40 man over our pitchers that we already have on the 40 man.
  22. Just FWIW I watched Sean throw his last bullpen before he left for AZ and he had a MLB catcher from another team catching. He was consistently Mid 90's and his offspeed pitches were there and there were a few other MLB players watching and they had nothing but good things to say. He has been working out really hard as evidenced by his dropping twenty five pounds and has been working on being ready as soon as ST opens...... ;) From what I heard, he really opened some eyes in AZ last fall. All the more reason not to trade him.
  23. I don't know that I would give up my top prospects for Blanton if I were the Reds.
  24. Now apparently McNamee injected Clemens' wife with hgh too. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/02/08/2008-02-08_source_brian_mcnamee_testified_roger_cle.html
