  1. This ranks right up there with putting the Spider-Man movie decals on the bases. Ridiculous. Hardly. If you can make a few million by starting your games 11 minutes later, go for it.
  2. Sorry guys, I don't remember where I saw it. It might have been a dated article that I read; though I don't really read any old articles or anything like that. I don't know, sorry for the confusion.
  3. I read this morning that Hendry asked permission to interview him and was turned down.
  4. Murton doesn't need a platoon partner.
  5. Big game for the Rams this week as they try to extend their division lead over Seattle before the bye week.
  6. Any man who would bat A-Rod eighth, in any game, for any reason, is invalidated from consideration IMO. Disagree. ARod has sucked in the playoffs recently. With that lineup that they have, I don't see a problem dropping him that low in the order. it cracks me up how much people buy into clutchnicity. What? Where did I say anything about clutch? The fact is that ARod has sucked in the playoffs as a member of the New York Yankees. No ifs, ands, or buts... he's flat out been horrible. It'd be stupid to NOT drop him in the order. Oh wait... he's good in the regular season so continue to bat him in the top of the order regardless of a slump. Great idea. yeah, completely revamping your lineup based on one guy's bad 40 ab's...now that's a great idea. Your season is on the line, and you have a hitter who is in a major slump. You have a ton of guys who are great hitters. You'd leave that hitter who has sucked in the middle of the lineup? Are you freaking serious?
  7. Jim Edmonds' average has dropped nearly 50 points in the last two years; his OBP has dropped nearly 70 points in the last two years; his SLG has dropped 170 points in the last two years. In 2004, his OPS was 1061. In 2005, it was 918. This past year, it was 821. He is rapidly declining. Aside from the fact that he's probably my most hated player in the game, the fact that he's on a HUGE decline makes it a completely horrible idea to sign him next season.

  9. Not playing the kids seems to be a non-issue with this team's next manager. What "kids" are going to be on the team next year that really desreve playing time? I don't consider Murton or Hill to be kids anymore. Any manager will start Murton in LF everyday, and insert Hill into the rotation immediately. I don't know much at all about Bochy, but I am intrigued.

  11. My ideal 2007 team originally included Mussina, until I really looked at his numbers. After really looking at him, I'd definitely pass on him now. As for Sheff, I'd go after him as a last resort if Jacque were traded. Otherwise, no thanks on him. Even though I've always been a fan of his.
  12. By if, you clearly mean when. That game will be my first of the year... I can't wait!
  13. M-I-Z...
  14. Bruce, You're awesome. Is Hendry finally starting to see the light as far as OBP goes? Joe Girardi... are you in favor or against him being the next Cubs manager? What's your favorite kind of beer? Rolling Rock?
  15. Yet another reason why defensive stats are virtuously worthless.
  16. We know Brenly b/c of all his comments in the booth. Girardi is a relative unknown management-wise and baseball philosophy. For me, it's a comfort level thing. I didn't really watch too many games, so I guess I'm not familiar with his approaches. What did he say in the booth that makes you thing he'd be good in the Cubs dugout?
  17. I've seen a lot of people who support Brenly over Girardi. Why? What makes Brenly desireable?
  18. He's taking too long? It's been five days since the season ended! Come on.
  19. What do you guys think a 1st base and 3rd base coach actually do? They're not there to work on hitting.
  20. Why? Cause he was a hell of a hard worker, and pretty good on the basepaths from what I remember. I think he'd be a good 1st or 3rd base coach. And he's a pretty vibrant guy, and I like having coaches that are likeable. Why not? Well, he sucked, had a horrible approach, and there's no evidence whatsoever that he has any qualifications to coach. Perfect example of a crappy hustler by the way. Ramirez jogging is 800 times better than Dunston running out another ground ball out. What do you look for in a 1st or 3rd base coach?
  21. 15 million? I'd rather not pay Ramirez more than what Lee is getting, cause he's not worth it.

  23. Shawon Dunston is a name I hadn't thought of. Didn't he help out in ST a couple years ago? I loved how he ran his hardest on every single play, regardless of whether it was a base hit to right or a tapper back to the pitcher. He'd make a nice addition to a coaching staff.
