I gotta think that they scheduled the kU game so early cause they didn't want to give fans a longer time to tailgate (i.e. get wasted). Not that 11 doesn't give you enough time to get plenty of beers in you. They did it so they could be on National TV. Yeah, that might have been another reason. But it's not like 11AM games are the only ones that are televised.

Tavarez is starting for the Sox. I think the deal to the Padres is done, but they can't send Kottaras (at least not now) since he's on the 40-man and would never clear waivers. Probably going to be a PTBNL. That's not Julian Tavarez you're talking about, is it?

Randall Simon wasn't much of a power guy. He was in '03 when he was with the Cubs. Sammy was the only Cub who had a better homerun per plate appearance ratio that year.

Based on what I remember reading on here, isn't Kottaras supposed to be a pretty good prospect? And he's hitting in the .230's? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, but he doesn't sound that good to me.

He's a better hit than most of those guys anyways. Seriously, there's nothing wrong with Zambrano pinch hitting. Frankly, I wish Dusty would've done it more often.

Cause he's a lefty that can come off the bench and hit a home run. And playoff teams want that. His power numbers are pretty bad this season. Nice guy, but he shouldn't be in the majors anymore IMO. I agree, but he's hit for power in the past. Teams like that, as is evident by the Dodgers' interest. -
I wouldn't move Pie to RF and what would you do with Jones? Leave Pie in CF. Send him to instructional camp somewhere. I'd move Pie to RF cause he'd be a better fit than Lofton.

I think we should sign Lofton for CF. When he gets hurt, call up Pie. When Lofton returns from injury, move Pie over to RF.
