    I'd look on eBay first. FinishLine.com seems to have them for $60. Prices seem to have really shot up at local places. You could have found some for $55, but now they seem to start at $75, which seems too high. It's not going to help you, but I saw Reebok replica throwback Butkus jerseys (numbers not stiched) for only $55 at the Sears in Niles a couple of weeks ago. Thanks Jon.

    Rothschild? Unbelievable. I don't like the Piniella signing, but the fact that Rothschild is coming back is just inexcusable. What the hell has he done to earn another contract from the Cubs?

    He knows what ERA stands for. But does he recognize that RA+ is more stable than ERA or even ERA+ from year to year? Does it matter if the manager knows that? I doubt many managers are familiar with stats like that. I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised.

    5 at 70 was what I wanted the Cubs to sign him for. I wouldn't go much higher, if at all. If he's going to demand something much higher then that, then try and get Wells or Andruw Jones instead.

    How would the Cubs wind up with Piniella as manager because of ARod if ARod went to the White Sox? That doesn't make any sense.

    They've done a good bit of investigative work on Carlos Lee and Alfonso Soriano, whom they nearly got in 2000 in the Sammy Sosa traded that didn't happen. A lot of this will become more clear once a new manager is on board. What are their thoughts on Murton? They like him a lot, and believe it or not, they're well aware of the comparison of his second-half splits with those of Carlos Lee. What they may do is see if they can get more power in center field. They do believe Murton will hit more homers than he did this season. I believe that as well. He'd be a great option at about $400,000, allowing them to spend the money elsewhere. Do they see Soriano as an option in CF, as Rosenthal (I think) suggested?

I was referring to his comments about waiting to see who the new Cubs manager is before deciding that he wants to come back next year. Did he actually say that, or was that a third party, "a friend" said that? And I apologize, but usually when people ask what Aramis would think of Piniella, it's usually a reference to ARam's (undeserved) lazy rep. Well of course he didn't say that, no player in his situation would. "People close to him" relayed that he said it. And I wasn't referring his lazyness at all, just wondering what he would do if Piniella was hired.

    If signing Piniella means that ARod will come to Chicago, then I support his hiring. Otherwise, I'd rather have Girardi. I wonder what Aramis thinks of Sweet Lou?

    Thom annoys me with the way he pronounces Monroe's last name. It's Mon-ROE, not MON-roe. I hate it when announcers do that. Jon Miller does it all the time too.
