  1. Provis: [umpire] with a delayed call. Strike one. Santo: Yeah that call was a little.......................delayed.
  2. Not quite that bad, but yeah he had some BABIP mojo going for him today, especially on line drives. yes that bad. Lots of warning track flies as well.
  3. Yeah, it's at 1:20. I do miss the 2:20 Friday starts though. 1:20 central time 2:20 real time
  4. Basically any lineup with Macias and Neifi 1-2 and blanco behind the dish.
  5. that's what vance should have done instead Supposedly he had a huge rant yesterday. I must have missed it, because I don't think I've seen him around today. Which Vance?
  6. Marginally. Kosuke doesn't ask for much, but he did ask to play right field. What does it hurt?
  7. hmm gotta figure milwaukee and St louis' pitchers hitting in the 8 spot if ou're gonna make that statement.
  8. In play run(s)...gameday spoils it again
  9. ... HI DAVE OTTO! I thought Ron was supposed to be back by now. He is... It's not Otto. It's the guy that comes in for a little while for Pat. Corey Provis sp?
  10. Comrade! I clicked on that link just before the national anthem...freaky don't do that! what? that anthem is better than ours. I forgot you are the resident communist. Shouldn't you like a communist board then?
  11. Comrade! I clicked on that link just before the national anthem...freaky don't do that!
  12. With all due respect to Bruce, I think even he would agree that people are allowed to have differing opinions about things. Now obviously he's more in the know, and might have some sort of knowledge about why Pie was never given a shot, or why Edmonds was better than his numbers in SD, but even then, this isn't a communist board where everyone is supposed to think alike. no, i beg to differ. it is a communist board because we're all supposed to be meatballs and hate edmonds or get flamed. there are those who would have you think so...but they will be eliminated soon.
  13. No, because Bruce is wrong. not wrong...just playing nice/not burning bridges.
  14. wow, lighten up... mostly a joke mostly
  15. This is a sad, sad day in Cubs history. Its like they sold their soul. I've often pontificated that the fates would require the death of Wrigley before they would grant a Cubs WS win. This is so much worse that it almost guarantees that this is the year. So the question is....is it worth it?...what would you give for a WS win?
  16. Yeah but Edmonds is gritty ... :hello: Of course..This Cubs organization is to obsessed with buying low and expecting these guys to ressurect their career and become phenomanal by joining the Cubs..Wade Miller,Lieber, Etc..I hope I am wrong and Edmonds becomes a RHP killing machine but I don't see it happening. But if 2005 Edmonds come back, I would be happy as hell. Outfielders can't be gritty. He goes all out, gives 110%, leaves it all on the field, plays the game the right way, and is a "baseball player" however.
  17. As I understand it he's cleared waivers therefore, no team has put in a claim meaning all Hendry has to offer is the league minimum. just because he CAN offer league minimum, doesn't mean he WILL. The teams didn't pass on Edmonds, they passed on him at his current salary. THe OP is saying that Hendry is thinking that SURELY a lot of other teams are interested in him at a reduced rate, so Hendry will outbid himself.
  18. this tells me a deal is close and the new owner said "no deal unless I get both" Zell wouldn't do this if it didn't = $$
  19. I dunno, it may be ok for 60-80 innings a year as opposed to 166.7 his rookie year. Also the willingness to throw it might be indicative of a more complete health/confidence in his health.
  20. those guys would not have gotten the shot in Chicago they did in Fla. They were buried in a pitching deep system at the time.
  21. And they still couldn't knock him around. Pathetic-er
  22. No, but the naming rights will be sold to the highest bidder with the Wrigley company already stating that they wouldn't be in the bidding. With a new corporate ownership of the Wrigley name, some bright exec might find keeping the name of the field the same would buy both quality advertising and good will.
