  1. The metro is always better.
  2. Looking at the Cubs schedule that year is just so depressing. I remember that year really well. Incredible start and it looked like the Cubs were going to steamroll through the season. Then one pitcher went on the DL. Then another. And another. And another. Then the entire starting rotation was on the DL at the same time. tough to manage through that. I remember that year too. I really thought the Cubs were going to win back-to-back division titles until the bottom dropped out. The pitching situation seemed similar to 2006, with one major difference. In 2006 the Cubs had legitimate pitching prospects that were called up earlier than they otherwise would have been, but I think that experience helped some of them (such as Marmol and Marshall) last year. In 1985, however, they were starting AA-quality pitchers who never pitched in the majors after that year (anybody remember the legendary Steve Engel, Johnny Abrego, and Derek Botelho?). Yes, some of us remember..... but we're trying real hard to forget, eh? Was that the year of the bad Mayonaisse?
  3. I for one don't mind having Hill treated with kid gloves. Its a lot better than watching Dusty run Prior out there with an 8-1 lead and over 100 pitches under his belt. If Hill's arm doesn't fall off, I am proven right. How's that for logic?
  4. If you lift a lot of weights, your muscles get bigger. If you lift a lot of weights and take steroids your muscles get a lot bigger. I can pretty much promise you if I dedicated myself to a strict diet and specific workout program over 1 year you would see a remarkable difference. In 3 years it would be huge. Its very possible. Not to mention that these athletes have the best trainers, technology and equipment, PLUS rather than dividing time between family, job, workout, this IS their job and they're away from family.
  5. your post is too long
  6. So maybe if soriano peed on his leg...
  7. I was just getting ready to break out the little graphic explanation... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/cubbybear314/Random%20Cool%20Shit/caring.png Except that "could care less" is sarcasm.

  9. It was the fastball he was having trouble with. The curveball was just fine. It was breaking well, but it was all over the place. If he was struggling to locate his fastball (and he was), the location of his curveball was 10x worse.
  10. What does myers tell a woman with two black eyes?

  13. the 2003 bean ball wars made me hate the Astros more than I could ever hate the Brewers. That said....I hate the Brewers.

  18. Poor you Roast. Because it's an April home series, I am not going to be able to watch one minute of the games Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Monday. Our first night game of the season isn't until next Wednesday. Ever since I graduated college and started a job, I've been in favor of more night games at Wrigley. Funny how that happens, eh? Because of weekend travel (for work), and day games, I won't be able to watch the Cubs play on TV until that Wednesday night game. I would have appreciated a night game in the first week. 19. I'm almost certain he didn't. i'm ALMOST CERTAIN he did. I'm almost certain he didn't. almost certain did. Certain almost didn't (Geovanny)
