  1. Their second-round pick, I believe.
  2. I hate the Red Sox just as much as the Yankees. Oh crap, I just realized that the backlash to all these signings will be 800,000 more annoying Red Sox bandwagoners declaring them "giant-killers" and rooting for them over the Yankees crap. The thing is that the Red Sox put up, what 170 million for Texeira too. The Red Sox have their own evil empire too. And being a Rays fan is even more trendy-annoying. But there's a fourth team that can challenge for a playoff spot in that division. The Blue Jays.
  3. And the Cowboys and the Panthers and the Vikings. Cowboys? They don't impress me. The Bears outplayed the Panthers in Carolina (albeit with no Smith) and they are very much equal with the Vikings. The Panthers are a better team now. The Bears are a worse team. The Vikings have more talent in every facet of the game except kick returning. I'll give you Carolina, not Minnesota. Their "superb talent" is vastly overrated. They've got a couple fat guys on the DLine and Peterson. Their QBs are nothing, their receivers are unimpressive, the rest of their D hasn't exactly shut down the league. They allowed 48 points to the freaking Bears. They've played the same teams as the Bears and have the same record. They do not outclass the Bears. Those couple of fat guys are Pro Bowlers who lead maybe the best run defense in the league. Adrian Peterson is the best back in the league. That outclasses the Bears. Plus the actually have a n actual pass rusher. Right now Jackson is a better QB than Orton. Their receivers are unimpressive, but still head and shoulders above the Bears. The Vikes are a different team now. Yeah they lost last week, but that's because Peterson couldn't hold onto the ball. That won't happen again. It's been happening a lot lately.
  4. I presume you are looking for a new job? I can't find that one, but I found a better one that I can't even link because of a word in the headline :(
  5. Careful. It's real easy to say things like that and come out looking like an idiot...not that I'd know or anything...
  6. They won't be unbeatable. But the AL East will very likely feature 4 of the best 5 teams in the AL and be awesome to watch.
  7. This is *awesome*. I love a good villain in a league, and the Yankees are repositioning themselves to be it. The Red Sox just never quite fit that role.
  8. Who all got injured? Mike Brown was it right? Every time Mike Brown gets injured, the defense immediately looks much worse. And it wasn't looking that good to begin with :(
  9. So, ostensibly, this team is two results away from being the third-best in the entire conference?
  10. I've been satisfied with his progress. It was unrealistic to expect much more. You've got a mediocre QB, a line that gives that QB no time and no other threats at receiver. Put Hester on a team with a decent passing game and he'd be an excellent weapon. He already was an excellent weapon, and we ruined it.
  11. They need to just go back to recycling through mediocre veterans every year for the next few years instead of maintaining the delusion that anyone they have now might develop into a legit starting QB.
  12. I didn't think it was a clear no-goal. It was definitely close either way.
  13. I'm really sick of these long breaks between games.
  14. Hawk's slip reminds me of Urlacher getting beat by Brady in the open field. Except this game doesn't matter for them.
  15. Milk the clock, play for the tie.
  16. Wow. Doing it after someone just got called for it is even stupider.
  17. I almost wish they hadn't. Defensive stop + good punt return is our best chance for a field goal.
  18. Every team has stupid penalties, and I don't dislike Turner. He's got 8, maybe 9 wins out of a team that we all believe has almost no talent. What's the problem with his coaching? you don't dislike turner? seriously? like, really? Dead serious. I think he runs an adequate NFL offense. I'm not enamored with him, but I'm not firing him unless I'm sure I've got someone better coming in.
  19. Hmm, what coach made special teams a major focus of this team? I rest my case :)

  21. For what? Putting together a consistently competitive team? Squeezing at least a .500 season out of this ragtag bunch? lovie should be safe, but turner shouldn't be. Lovie hired Turner and Bavich. I don't think anyone of them have been that bad. The only major coaching failure of the Bears in the last few year was waiting one season too long to remake the offensive line. (well, and the obvious failures to draft a decent QB).
  22. For what? Putting together a consistently competitive team? Squeezing at least a .500 season out of this ragtag bunch? are you really defending lovie? wow Absolutely. He's been a good coach.

  24. I love them more than it is socially acceptable for a man to love two dozen other men simulataneously.
  25. Run for 1 on second down, 7-8 on third down on a dump screen, easy field goal, ballgame.
