  1. Not since 2006. Stop living in the past. That plan worked when the defense was elite, but it's nowhere close to elite this year, and only Lovie apparantly couldn't see that truth. I get it, you hate Smith and you hate the defense. I disagree. We saw defense and special teams win several games this season. We saw it two weeks ago. This defense wasn't elite, but defenses tend to rise and fall quickly year-to-year. A good draft and it'll be elite again. A bad draft and your hatred of Smith will be a little more justified because we won't be coming off a winning season.
  2. It's really easy to complain about the lack of "aggresiveness" in game-day planning when they lose, but I've seen too many games where the defense and special teams game wins the day to agree. As is usually the case in the NFL, this team will be as good as it's next draft.
  3. Okay, tried to play it cool, but I can't focus on the game. Outs.
  4. Now I know how Detroit fans feel. I always wondered what it was like to have your team just skate circles around everybody else. This team can skate like no other I've seen. They skate it out of the zone instead of dumping it, and they can skate it into the offensive zone. I love it.
  5. Kane doing a lot of creating right now.
  6. A few guys thought the Rays would be good. But yeah, this team is really putting it together. The two games against Detroit will say a lot about how serious this win streak is. Statistically, they are one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the league right now, but I have trouble believing it until they beat Detroit.
  7. okay, family's notified, lemme see if I can get a stream of the game going...
  8. Hopefully me, because that would mean we have a baby conceived on Canadian soil.
  9. This is slightly more important. My wife appears to be pregnant for the first time. Then again, a Buff hatty would give him inside track on naming rights.
  10. 2-0 already, nice. I've got some other things to do.
  11. Yeah, I'm sure someday we'll see a Bears team that's good offensively. But in order to fix the offense, we'd need a lineman or two, a quarterback, at least one WR, a new coach. And we'd probably need a new front office to get all these guys. We can have an elite defense again with just one or two new players, and we already have an elite special teams.
  12. The running backs aren't bad. The defensive line is probably straddling the line between the top half and the bottom half. A good defensive draft and this team wins 11+ games next year. Forte is very good. Peterson isn't what I really have in mind as his primary backup. The Bears should do better there. The defensive line cannot generate a pass rush to save its life. It showed it can defend the run well but was inconsistent at that as well. I think we should go pass rusher or wide receiver in the first round of the draft. No WR, please. This team needs to be good at what it can be good at: Defense and special teams. And in order to have a good defense, you must draft it every single year. A good WR doesn't change this into a good offense, but one good Dlineman might make it a good defense.
  13. I've given up on the idea that the Red Wins will ever have a downswing.
  14. Yes, and no team in Chicago with the exception of the Bulls have done that. It is pathetic. Especially considering the big market. It's one thing to suck in Memphis or Tampa, its another to suck in Chicago. Maybe if they just manned up and cared more about the fans... I can't do it. Sorry, I tried.
  15. The running backs aren't bad. The defensive line is probably straddling the line between the top half and the bottom half. A good defensive draft and this team wins 11+ games next year.
  16. In the era of 30-team leagues, measuring by championships is a really stupid way to measure. You'll win one every three decades on average.
  17. I'm not mad about how the season turned out. I like the coaching staff, I like some of the young players, I like the fact that we are set at TB, I trust our front office in the next draft. The only thing I want is for this defense to shut up and stop living on a few years ago. No more whining about disrespect when we all know you aren't good.
  18. The most annoying part is that the defense will still be talking all off-season and next season.
  19. D. Manning screwed up two plays, but otherwise the Bears as a team have played pretty well and I'm not too upset.
  20. Peterson another fumble, but Vikings hold on to ball.
  21. I find the 3-9 in our last 12 home playoff games dating back to 1989 mark to be even more amazing A losing streak of 3 games in six straight postseason appearances.
  22. Part of me kind of hopes they do get swept in the playoffs next year, though. My generic sports fan finds the losing streak to be fascinating. Eight and counting, all by multiple runs. It'd have to be big, though, one-upping even this year's beatings.
  23. Split screening this and the Vikings game on my computer monitor. Hopefully I can squeeze the Packers game in there as well.
  24. It really wasn't that long ago that every Bulls fan I know (though not you guys) insisted this team was right on the verge of title contention and that it would be horrifying to trade Luol Deng or Kirk Heinrich in a Kobe Bryant deal.
