O's have two men on base at the same time for the first time this game. Their 5-9 spots in the order are batting a combined .119 with RISP. Wigginton promptly GIDP's and ends the fake rally. Watching Cesar Izturis play baseball is a truly painful experience. The Orioles in general are pretty tough to watch. No wonder people around here get so pumped about the Ravens. There's no one else around to watch.
I really doubt the phone call did him in. I was pretty harmless really. Also, does anyone else question the validity of his account getting hacked? If he were the type of person to lie for any reason and make up the story about his account being hacked, then I imagine this would also make him smart enough to not mention the phone call and give you the pleasure of a reaction. I think it's legit.
Orioles @ Red Sox in progress is the only daytime game. Pie is batting in the 9 spot, and announcers are talking about how the management can only give him so much time to figure it out before they're going to have to pull the plug on him. Izturis misplayed a ball that led to a run, and he had an IF single to drive one in. 3-1 Sox bottom 5. Looks like his RGI production is taking a hit as the years progress. Am I wrong for thinking that the Marlins-Pirates game is the most interesting one on the bill today?
It would also require the wildcard to come out of the west. I'm not saying that's not possible, but I will gave anyone 5-1 odds who wants to be on that happening.
Someone hacked his account, got his phone number, called him, and played him the pat and ron call of the Aram walkoff/Go Cubs Go song. Whichever one of you did it, I owe you a night of drinking.
Hermida hits a 2-run HR with two outs to tie the game, Hanrahan of the Nats blows saves in consecutive games. This one was of the 3-run variety. I can't imagine trying to follow this team.
Announcers just said that, since Sept '07, the Marlins are 20-3 against the Nats. Talk about pwnage. Nats are two outs away from making that 20-4, but they've given up a run in the ninth, and the tying run is at the plate with 1 out.
Gamedays wrong Agreed. The screenshot below was from a couple innings later, and it was on a call that no one thought twice about. I've never compared gameday to live pitching, since I only watch it when live pitching isn't an option, but I can't imagine it's a very reliable source for such a thing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/cubbybear314/Screen%20caps/nicecallsmall.jpg
I disagree with what he said about PJ Walter. He had a rough start and settled down very well. Had he not thrown so many pitches, he would have cruised through another inning or two with the same success he had in the 3rd and 4th.
It's better than the Dusty days where you could lay even odds on the Cubs not scoring in an inning where they get a runner on third. And when the rookie mediocre opposing pitcher would be out of the second inning on 17 pitches, rather than pushing 60.
Left for work at 11pm (eastern) last night, just got home. For some reason I didn't think (sit down pujols!! WTG Z!) this game was on WGN. I won't even try right now. This losing streak is out of hand, Cobs, please let me wake up to a win.
I know gameday isn't the best source, but this was a pretty surprising ball call. Is the strike zone really this bad? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v483/cubbybear314/Screen%20caps/nicecall.jpg
I'm surprised to see all the love for Madden. If I ever hear anyone use the phrase "blithering idiot", I immediately think of Madden. There are very few broadcasters in any sport who are worse than Madden. 20 years too late imo.
