  1. Did anyone else cringe at the expected sound of Gordon's hammy exploding on that drive?
  2. Thanks. It sounds like they're on a 2-2-1-1-1 setup for how many games each team gets at home, is that correct? Will it be that way for all playoff rounds?
  3. I'm going to sound stupid here, but this series is the first NBA I've paid any attention to since the Jordan days. I'm pretty sure the way the announcers are talking, the first round is a 7-game series. Didn't it used to be 5? When did this change? --edited to replace what is apparently an expletive with "stupid"
  4. Strikes please. If Cotts can't come in with a five-run lead and get the job done, he needs to disappear off this roster and not come back.
  5. Start that man at first base! I'm sure Derrek Lee can learn how to catch a fly ball while Milton recovers.
  6. Wow. I don't think Theriot and his noodle arm got him.
  7. First inning out of the way. Time for Harden to settle down now. He'll make it through six without much of anything happening. Hopefully this offense isn't so bad they pull runs off the board.
  8. I won't violate the rules here by attacking the poster instead of the post ... ... so I'll just mention that that is probably the most asinine, shallow, indefensible, and small-minded comment I've ever read on this board. http://ramblingrhodes.mu.nu/archives/normal_Internet-SeriousBusiness.jpg
  9. This. Or at least don't embarrass yourselves in the process of failure to do so. I can only take so much of these painfully bad games.
  10. Bradley may have gotten something worth swinging at if he were.
  11. They're looking over at DeRo, who is just out of the picture trying to pick his jaw up off the warning track.
  12. Yea, Brenly's going to the minor league game at Miller Park to watch his kid play tonight.
  13. Lilly killed himself with his own fielding though. His own fielding cost him one run. If that one run is what does the Cubs in, then no part of the defense or pitching did any of the killing.
  14. Or without their car. Welcome to police school. The Pirates are the sheriff and the Marlins are the deputy trainees. I just came in here to gawk about the Pirates sweeping the Marlins. Quite the interesting outcome. I wonder who this tells us more about.
  15. Plus they're good teams. Yes, but as poorly as the Cubs have traditionally played in those two locations, I fear losing 5 of 6 is not out of the realm of possibility. Plus, Florida obviously benefited from an easy schedule to start the season. Now that they've run into that juggernaut in Pittsburgh, they've finally had their first losing streak of the season.
  16. Was that a Dusty Sucks chant they had going?
  17. Aramis Ramirez is really, really good at baseball.
  18. Whoever pointed out in a recent thread that clutch may, in fact, exist in the case of Aram, I think I'm beginning to believe that. Unbe-freaking-lievable.
  19. This seems like the type of reliever who can be effective against someone who's never seen him before, but the people who are ready for him should have no trouble at all.
