  1. I didn't even think about flipping over to ESPN during the draft. The Eisen/Davis/Mayock crew was really good throughout the draft. The cellphone thing you mentioned was pretty funny. But on the first night they had Deion and Irvin. Of course ESPN had Berman so I was flipping. Plus I still love me some Mel. Anyone catch the "Mel Facts" at the end of the 7th round? He's never had an ATM card, never written a check (straight cash homey) and every morning he eats pumpkin pie with fat free whipped cream but doesn't eat the crust.
  2. Vikings have taken 2 guys from USC, 2 from Notre Dame, 2 from Arkansas. And both Arkansas guys are WR's, both Notre Dame guys could end up being safeties. Sounds like Blanton could go either way in a cover-2. 6'1, 207, good tackler and physical but only a 4.66 40.
  3. Love the trade up to get Smith. Vikings desperately needed a S, he and Barron are the only two starters in the draft.
  4. This seems like the type of thing sulley would create: http://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/2012/4/24/2971472/jarrod-uthoffs-exodus-pt-1 http://www.blackheartgoldpants.com/2012/4/25/2973862/uthoffs-exodus-pt-2
  5. Yeah I really haven't seen much video on him so I have no idea. Iowa also has a 5-man class and they've talked about being very selective of the final ride, likely planning on carrying it over to '13. They want an athletic 6'5-6'6 wing who can create off the dribble.
  6. Some Ohio de-commit apparently has Iowa, Purdue and Michigan as his final 3. Claims offers from Iowa and Purdue, not one from Michigan yet but he's visiting there.
  7. No [expletive] way.
  8. Works for me dew.
  9. Been out of town this weekend and now see that I'm up next. Don't really have time to look through things this morning before work. Right now I would be looking for the best safety available if there's a decent one ranked in this range or a HB/kick return guy. If someone wants to make that call, go ahead to keep this thing rolling along. Otherwise I can figure it out late this afternoon.
  10. Was really hoping the Capitals would close out the Bruins yesterday. Boston had 3 ridiculously good scoring chances in 3 minutes of OT yesterday though.
  11. Soft goal yes, but I'm much more pissed at Leddy being an idiot leading to the breakaway.
  12. His dad lives in Washington, IA, and he was paying in-state tuition. Yes this is correct. He was a walk-on paying in-state tuition. Sam Okey was also a walk-on for the year he was at Iowa.
  13. Again, it's pretty obvious he thinks they tampered with him.
  14. Bo Ryan is getting killed nationally and it is awesome. They just keep making it worse.
  15. Someone tell Rothstein that's not possible.
  16. Bo is clearly being an [expletive] here. The Big Ten and Marquette are obvious. As ridiculous and wrong as the entire ACC is, I guess he's doing it because he never wants to play him in the B1G/ACC challenge. The only reason I can possibly imagine ISU would be restricted is because he thinks they were tampering.
  17. Seriously, how did he think he was going to have more time in the middle of the ice. Shoot the [expletive] puck.
  18. What the [expletive] was Kane waiting for? Shoot the [expletive] puck.
  19. End it early. [expletive] these guys.
  20. Shanahan has lost his mind. He's just spinning a big wheel of punishment at this point.
  21. Two of the Vikings targets have been sniped in the last few picks with Taylor and Boykin going off the board. The Vikings still have an enormous need in the secondary. There's a lot of variance with the CB rankings across the different services so.... The Vikings select Trumaine Johnson, CB from Montana.
  22. Lunardi's first '13 Bracketology: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/bracketology He has 7 Big Ten teams in, Purdue being the last. I think I would have Iowa and Illinois ahead of them.
  23. Michael Orris has been Groce'd out.
  24. Even his AAU coach was shocked by this. He doesn't even have a plan for what he wants to do. Sounds like going JUCO for a year might be the plan. According to pretty much everyone he fit in well there, was liked by coaches and teammates, was happy there and was doing well and poised to have a solid role for 4 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to UNI where two of his former AAU teammates are now. Apparently Ryan is trying to put a ton of restrictions on his release, including blocking Big 12 schools for some reason. Which all makes sense. It's not like Bo was the first coach in forever to demand a waiver so he could get a commit from another Big Ten school.
