  1. He ran him to the table to try to get him in for the final possession. Since he didn't get there and Cuse was already set in their defense he just decided "welp, guess I can't get him in". WTF? Take the timeout, get him in and draw up your zone play.
  2. The Vikings should get one of those 2nd round picks the Saints had to give up. Or both. Or just award us the Super Bowl from that year.
  3. Well this has been an awesome day. Royce White leaving ISU, Shaka turning down Illinois, Smotrycz leaving Michigan (not as great but still good) and people thinking Burke may leave Michigan. The ginger takeover is nigh.
  4. I would be fine with it occasionally, but it should at least be 2/3 or 3/4 at home. No one (at least almost no one) does a true home and home with mid-major's.
  5. Creighton is really annoying. They also think they have the best fans in the world because of how many people they can draw for a mid-major. Well, you're in a large metro area with no other competing games in town, you have a really nice arena and sell beer.
  6. Future is very bright. I honestly didn't expect much from Michigan in this tournament, but I can't wait for next year. Also, suck it Duke. Anything on Burke/Hardaway and the draft?
  7. It's hard to complain about seeding when you're in the NIT, but yeah it's [expletive]. I was going to say that seeding is almost irrelevant in the NIT as better teams are constantly seeded lower to reduce travel and create better matchups, but it looks as those NU is going to have to play at Washington this weekend. I would like to take a jab at the super weak Pac-12, but Iowa has to play one of them too. I would have loved an LSU win so we got another home game. Yeah bummer. I think Oregon is going to take it to us. The Pac-12 sucks but Oregon has been decent and traveling out there is a big blow.
  8. That Iowa-Dayton game was awesome. It was [expletive] loud in there, rowdy crowd which always seems to be the case when Iowa has an NIT home game. Aaron White is good.

  10. They had already sold 8,500 a couple of hours ago. My guess is they'll get over 12,000. It's awesomely sad how excited people are for this NIT bid. Should be fun. I remember going to the NIT game vs. Georgia Tech when they had Chris Bosh and B.J. Elder. There were only like 9K people there but it was super loud.
  11. Get used to the view from below, boys...
  12. He had them as his 3rd team out yesterday. Then in this morning's update he had them completely removed. He now added them back in on the bubble either after the fact or in his very last update.
  13. I'm [expletive] pumped
  14. The "SEC" chant last night by Mizzou fans was just embarrassing.
  15. Oh you'll remember soon enough.
  16. Damn straight
  17. The Vikings could have been in the Rams position if they had lost to the [expletive] Redskins. Peterson and Ponder even got knocked out and we still won. [expletive].
  18. It's what he does. He blasted Iowa for firing Lickliter after the 3 worst seasons in program history. If he doesn't think you're a cheater, he'll defend you for an hour at his press conference after you're fired.
  19. He and Craft were both fairly underrated coming out of high school. [expletive], Gesell is ranked higher than both. I think he's similar to Burke, maybe a slightly better shooter and not quite as good of a distributor.
  20. Remember when Alford beat UCONN and had a ton of talent coming? Yes and I, like everyone else was pumped. We were leading the league in late January and 17-3 before Recker got hurt in '01. Preseason top 10-15 in '02 and then the wheels fell off. In hindsight, Alford was 36 with a shitty ass coaching staff and limited experience. When he finally got wise and made some coaching changes, things improved a bit. I'm much more confident in Fran's coaching ability, staff and player development and he's shown he has an eye for under-recruited talent. He's done it at multiple programs and built from garbage each time. We aren't expecting to be a contender in the B1G consistently, but at least a middle of the pack type program with the occasional Sweet 16 run or top 3 Big Ten finish.
  21. You'd know a crappy hire. Steve Alford, Todd Lickliter, Fran Mc.... Fran looks like he knows what he's doing. The other 2 guys, not so much. It's early. Considering the state of the program when he took over, things are pretty damn encouraging on the floor and the recruiting trail.
  22. This game is about to get really ugly. It looks that way. They are shooting a high percentage because of dunks and layups and everyone they miss they get the rebound and another dunk or layup. I hope Woodbury is ready to be Iowa's only post player with size. Not concerned about them inside next year. Olaseni will be improved and has all the tools to at least be a good interior defender and rebounder. Add in Meyer, Woodbury and you've got 3 decent options inside at least on that end and the boards. Basabe and White can both get you spot minutes at the 5 but along with McCabe all can play the 4.
  23. I don't get why this is a good thing. You're right it's not a good thing. It's [expletive] fantastic.
  24. I don't watch them much but Travis Ford must be a really bad coach. They've got some talent.
