  1. The game tomorrow would be a lot more fun on this board if Illinois' fans weren't hoping for a loss.
  2. You're really still pissed about a walk-on hitting a buzzer beater and Ricky Stanzi's leg, aren't you? Yes. Yes I am. And of all people, you know it goes way deeper than that.
  3. Mizzou got screwed on the two crucial calls but it kind of evens out from the first game. And this Missouri team is my favorite non-Iowa high-major team to watch in years. Oh, hey Northwestern scummed out a game they had no business winning at the end? No wai!!!111!!! I'll go to bed dreaming of them losing to OSU, then losing in Iowa City, then us slamming the door in Shurna's stupid face in Indy in the first round. If there's any justice in the world, we'll beat them in the NIT too.
  4. 1. Korie Luscious sucks. Seriously. He isn't good. True PG? LOL 2. White is your team this year. As far as being productive and being relied upon to do so much, he's been statistically maybe the most important player to a high-major team this year. The IF he comes back is enormous. 1. Korie Lucious doesn't "suck" and we aren't relying on him to be a big player next year. Just someone who can take pressure off of Royce so he doesn't have to handle the ball as much as this year. 2. Royce is a big part of our team but he isn't our whole team. We have the best 3 point shooting team in the Big XII, only one other team in the country can say they have four different players who have made more than 45 three pointers. 1. Yes he does. His offensive ratings in 3 years were 92.4, 93.5 and 91.5. His 3 years at MSU he shot 38%, 34% and 31% from the field. And he's a shooting guard! He shot 32% and 28% from 3 as a sophomore and junior. He shot 39% and 36% from 2 as a sophomore and junior. He had obscenely high turnover rates all 3 years. And the worst part is, even though he can't shoot, he thinks he's a shooter and just keeps putting up misses. Calling him a true PG is completely absurd. 2. Royce White uses 30% of your possessions and has played 76% of the possible minutes. There are only 5 high-major players who have used more of their team's possessions. Of those 5, only 2 have played more minutes than White, Stoglin at Maryland and Frazier at PSU. So yes Iowa State has relied upon White more than every other BCS program in the country has relied on one player except for Maryland and PSU.

  6. I think you guys are going to beat us by double digits if that helps.
  7. That game was [expletive] awesome. Huge student section, great atmosphere and Gatens put on an absolute show. First half neither team could miss anything and were taking some contested jumpers. Although this just guaranteed an Illinois win Sunday. No way we win up there now that Gottlieb, Seth Davis, Mike DeCourcy, Rothstein and others are jumping on the "If Iowa wins out.." train.
  8. Any of you Illinois people ever heard of Brian Greene from Thornton in the '11 class? Went to IMG Academy and now got an Iowa offer along with Ole Miss and some other high-majors. Did this in high school:
  9. I have a hard time understanding how anyone can harbor this kind of hate for NU. They've been too irrelevant to hate and to tell the truth, I'd kind of like to see them make it. But at worst I'm indifferent about the Wildcats. Maybe because of the 33 cases this decade where Carmody and his band of goofy-looking racially ambiguous goons have made buzzer beaters or completely gone off against Iowa in games that either kept them out of the tournament or kept them from winning the Big Ten? I can't fathom a time when Iowa could win the Big Ten. '06. We finished one game back of Ohio State. Beat them in the only head-to-head meeting of the year and beat them in the BTT championship. Lost at Northwestern by 3 in a typical Iowa vs. Northwestern game. We had like a 10 point lead with 5 minutes left then Vedran Vukusic went off and got a 3 point play in the closing seconds when we were up 2.
  10. If they win their last 3 they're in. Fortunately they should lose to OSU and I have some plans for them when they arrive in Iowa City...

  12. Good job Michigan. Keep Northwestern out of the tournament. Forever.
  13. At least with Pullen I thought they were kind of fun to watch at times.
  14. Of course. Iowa has a decent shot at winning at Illinois for the second time in like 25 years and none of you will even care. Nevermind, we'll probably lose anyway.
  15. Damn that was fun. Find a way to get to the NIT. Frustrating thing is with two of the wins they gave away they would be sitting at 16-11, 8-6 and likely finishing at 18-12, 10-8 and squarely on the bubble heading to the BTT. I really hate Sheehey.
  16. He wasn't a top 100 guy. I'm really [expletive] hopeful with Gesell coming in next year being ranked higher than Craft and Burke, just hope those dumbass evaluators are right.
  17. I'm going to disclaimer this that I am seriously not trolling or trying to argue with Illini fans. Sulley gave Iowa fans a pass and I want to preserve that... On Leonard, if he was just bawling over how the season has turned out, he needed to not be so [expletive] soft for so many points of the year. The fact that he's that disappointed over it is a good thing. It's endearing. But it's not like he's been balling out and everyone else sucked. It's not like he's been busting his ass. You can't blame everything on the coach. At some point if it means that much to him, he needs to realize he's the best player on the team, a lottery pick and [expletive] demand some change.
  18. Nah, had to get to 10-8. The frustrating part of this season is that at least a bubble situation was there for the taking if either Basabe or Cartwright played at the level they were last year, much less both. They were sitting at 11-8, 3-3 with 3 good wins under their belt in the B1G (@Wisconsin, @Minnesota, vs. Michigan). Then they pissed away leads in two straight @Purdue and home vs. Nebraska. They get those two and they're squarely on the bubble right now with a good shot considering the remaining schedule.
  19. [expletive] Northwestern. I hope they never make it. And what is going to happen if Iowa ends up in 7th? They'd go to the NIT (hopefully). They've blown all of their chances. I'm just hoping for some kind of postseason at this point.
  20. [expletive] Northwestern. I hope they never make it.
  21. I don't think it's the head coach's job to console Leonard during the game if he's just bawling about the result. It's not like he's been playing his ass off. He went for 9 and 5 in 32 minutes and wasn't giving much effort defensively.
  22. 52-12. I can't stop watching this, it's incredible.
  23. this is exactly what people talk about when they say that the players have given up. There's no arguing that at this point. At this point I just hope they let him coach the next 2 games. They're at OSU then Iowa at home. At this point you would expect them to get destroyed at OSU. Iowa might have a shot at their first win in Champaign in like 30 years.
  24. 43-7 now. Don't remember seeing anything like this. Especially when the team dominating is at an enormous talent disadvantage.
