  1. Amendola celebrates a 7 minute drive to cut their 4th quarter deficit to 19 by spiking the ball into an old man's face and sending him up the tunnel. You can't make this [expletive] up.
  2. The Rams look as bad today as any team I can remember watching in a full NFL game. The Vikings are up 33-7 on the road without even playing THAT well. Bradford looks like he wants to go home.
  3. I'm pissed IU won't be undefeated and #1 on New Year's Eve.
  4. I'm seeing some pretty realistic paths to 9-9 and I would think that would put them in should they beat a ranked team along the way. I'm getting a little giddy. Wow your schedule is very favorable. UM, OSU, MSU, and IL as your 1 gamers. And you get the 2 lesser teams of that group at home. They need to take care of business in their 8 games vs. PSU, Nebraska, Purdue and Northwestern. They should get 5 wins there with a solid chance at 6. If they do that they can get to 9 without any real upsets.
  5. Iowa beat UNI by 7 today in Des Moines. Marble had 30, Gesell had 23. Should go into Big Ten play at 11-2 with two top 50-100 wins (one away from home) and both losses against top 50-100 teams away from home. Just get 9 Big Ten wins and I'll be a happy man.
  6. What was up with Hulls giving Creek a big shove as they were lining up to shake hands?
  7. Northwesterns never making a tourney, are they? And Carmody can't catch a break.
  8. Drew Crawford out for the year.
  9. It'd be interesting. It'd mean Samardzija, Garza or Wood are traded, or we didn't really promise Baker and Feldman rotation spots. I'm thinking that Beliveau's DFA maybe says something about their plans for the rotation. Wood as long-man/6th starter/2nd LHP in the pen would be a good way to consolidate some roles in a bullpen that's already currently committed to Marmol/Fuji/Camp/Russell/Rondon That would get me way too excited that we may actually have a chance at competing for something this year.
  10. Hopefully it's just the beer but this [expletive] Illinois team is starting to remind me of Missouri last year.
  11. Purdue down 7 at Eastern Michigan with 5 to go.
  12. No there are a lot of different ugly white guys. Much like ISU doesn't just have a couple of guys who were hated in their program and caused problems. They have a lot of fake tough guys who love mean mugging the crowd and acting hard but then play really dumb and soft. And they got beat by ugly white guys. What is Fred going to do next year when he only returns 2 real players? What do you mean by 2 "real" players? ISU has Ejim, Gibson and Niang all coming back next year. We're also red-shirting a freshman this year who should contribute next year as well. And Fred has two freshman guards coming in who might start. They'll be young next year but not awful. Okay so they return 3 players who contribute instead of 2. My bad.
  13. Correct. Iowa will likely be 10-3 or 11-2 going into the Big Ten with all losses being against top 100 teams (probably a top 50) and away from home. They have at least 1 win against a top 50-75 team and could get another away from home. 9-9 will get them in, 10-8 would be a lock. It's early and things will change a lot but even with their shitty non-conference schedule their RPI is currently 48.
  14. Iowa is not terrible. Not NCAA good, but they're far from terrible. abuck is just doing his thing. Not sure why you'd say they're not NCAA good. They might not be but it's far from a sure thing. They went 8-10 in the Big Ten last year. This year 9-9 has a decent shot at getting them in, 10-8 and they're in. The Big Ten is better but they're better too. If I had to predict Iowa's conference record, I'd say 8-10 again, +/- 1. I think 10-8 would be a best case. Pretty much what I have thought all year. Now that they beat Iowa State I think 10-8 puts them on the bubble though they have to beat Northern Iowa for that Big Ten record to have them dancing for sure. 10-8 in this year's league will get in any Big Ten team with the exception of PSU/Nebraska and maybe Purdue depending on their ND/WVU games.

  17. In my mind I know I should be expecting moves like this but I still get kind of sad when they happen.
  18. yes, but not in the same sense that northwestern is lol
  19. Minnesota @ Florida St. (Florida St.) Iowa @ Virgina Tech (Va. Tech). Until we stop [expletive] the bed in this thing, I can't pick Iowa. NC State @ Michigan (Michigan) Maryland @ Northwestern (Northwestern) Nebraska @ Wake Forest (Wake Forest) UNC @ Indiana (IU) Purdue @ Clemson (Clemson) Virignia @ Wisconsin (Wisconsin) Michigan St. @ Miami (Michigan St.) Georgia Tech @ Illinois (Illinois) Boston College @ Penn St. (Penn St.) Ohio St @ Duke (Duke) Big Ten 7-5.
  20. This is the ugliest 5 minutes in NFL history.
  21. The Vikings have won like 1 time in the last 12 years in Chicago and that was Adrian just going nuts. It also seems like in recent years, regardless of how the Bears OL has looked leading into this game, the Vikings can't get the expected pressure on Cutler. I wanted to think the Vikings could finally get one with the Bears coming off a road Monday night game and us having a bye, but Percy out and Cutler in swings the pick. Bears 24 Vikings 17
  22. Yeah that makes sense. Give the guy that was like the 5th choice last year 11 months and then can him. I'm sure you'll have a great list to choose from after that.
