  1. Absolutely. Doesn’t mean the Brewers are not in on him. But Az definitely wants this news out.
  2. I get the Pepiot and Fairbanks side of what you are suggesting. And I never said we couldn’t use Diaz. He was actually someone I was interested in until I saw he couldn’t play 3rd. But since he can’t play 3rd and we already have an everyday DH and a first baseman who hits right handed pitching well, I do not see enough opportunity for Diaz. Because there is not enough opportunity I think another team would probably offer more for him than the Cubs would be willing to give. If the goal with Diaz is to move outfielders around giving each time off so he can DH and also play a little first base to give Busch a break, I might rather see them get Suarez, who can do all that and play 3rd. If you are shopping for a big bat(which I do not think is necessary) I would hope he can at least play 3rd.
  3. I know. I don’t think it will cost that much. I think they can get Gore or Ryan without Horton or Shaw. I think they can get Keller, Cabrera or Alcantara without giving up both Cassie and Wiggins. I do agree they would not do anything you suggested if that is the actual price.
  4. I think someone with a clearer need for him would be willing to pay more. Cubs have a full time DH. I understand what you are saying, but I just think someone who can use him more would be willing to pay more. When you sit any of the outfielders just to play Seiya in their position you weaken your defense. And Diaz getting AB instead of the outfielder they sit isn’t even an advantage offensively, except when he plays for Happ(now). I woulld rather just get Castro. .
  5. I don’t agree with this. I don’t think the cubs put Shaw or Horton in a trade. Sure, Cassie, Wiggins, Rojas and probably someone like Triantos or Gallagher. Which is a steep price. But not guys in the majors already. I also do not think Keller, Cabrera or Alcantara cost Wiggins and Cassie. Maybe one of them and something else.(depending on which one they go after), but not two guys in baseballs top 100.
  6. You are definitely a minority here. The Cubs need, bare minimum, a starting pitcher and a pen pitcher.
  7. Welcome. Can you tell me why the Yankees would trade Goldy?
  8. I think he is too good not to play more.
  9. I am getting on a plane is a few hours and won’t have access until 10:30-11:00 central. I expect things to happen during that time.
  10. I would have rather seen Brasier, but hopefully CC is right. I feel Brasier is not in the circle of trust.
  11. Hope they have the pen ready. Brown has looked good, but when something goes bad he can’t regroup.
  12. That could be why there is no deal.
  13. This is exactly it. He loses focus. When anything goes wrong he can’t get back on track. So frustrating.
  14. What are they going to do with Diaz? He hasn’t played 3rd since 2022.
  15. Would Ryan be 3? Is that absurd? I am not sure it is. Maybe Ryan and Castro? Cassie, Wiggins and Rojas? Can’t blame the twins for asking.
  16. Agreed. Would be fun to see Alcantara for Alcantara. Bet there has never been two guys with the same last name traded for each other. I do kind of remember years ago the white Sox trading for a guy that they mistook for another guy with the same last name. Don’t remember the exact details, but it did happen.
  17. I get that. But if he had to go for a front line starter I would be ok trading him too. Even if Tucker left, Alcantara, Ballasteros or Long can fill that spot in the line up. That said, hope they keep Tucker!🤞
  18. Sorry, I thought it was a comma after Cassie, not a period. So I thought you had all those guys in your list who you wouldn’t trade for Ryan. My bad. Yes, if Cassie was untouchable, the Cubs could still do something for Ryan with 3 top guys. I personally don’t see Cassie as untouchable.
  19. Brown, Wicks and another prospect for Suarez? I know it has been said to you before, but I am glad you are not the Cubs GM.😅 All jokes aside, I wouldn’t do that.
  20. See you want the ace but want to give up scrubs. It doesn’t work that way. 5 minor league guys with limited upside is not going to get them Ryan. Sure, I would agree with you if the Cubs could get Ryan for Long, Gallagher, and 3 other guys who probably will never play in the majors. But if we are being realistic, would you do Cassie, Wiggins and any other prospect the Twins want for Ryan? If not, than stop suggesting they can get a TOR starter. Because with what you are offering, they can’t.
