  1. Wow, was that a BS call by the home plate umpire. Guy got hit in the balls. He needed to step out. WTF!
  2. Chibear, again, you suggested it would be great to have a good outfielder on your bench. Tauchman would be that good bench outfielder. Yet, now you are saying his AB would be limited. So which is it? Is it a good idea to get a solid outfielder or isn’t it important because he wouldn’t be used much anyway?
  3. Didn’t you say you weren’t going to worry about this until after the Cubs and Brewers play in August. Each would have 34 games left. Not 3 hrs later and you are worrying about it.
  4. Why? Why would the Cubs field a worse defensive team than they would just playing Happ in left? I mean, if you are suggesting to give Happ a rest more often, maybe that is a good idea. But it is definitely weakening the defense when you do that.
  5. They are. But they are an interesting team. They might trade even in the race, but might want guys to help them now. They also view players differently than most organizations. So if they like Ballasteros and also Brown maybe they do something with those two guys for Bradly and Fairbanks. This is just an example. Maybe they feel Ballasteros can help them now. Maybe they want Cassie and want him I. The line up now. Bradley isn’t going to be cheap. I’m not saying that is a fair deal. I honestly don’t know. But IMO if the Rays traded guys now they would want guys they think can help now, back.
  6. He is an odd fit. But the story suggests it was Bradley and Fairbanks mainly. Diaz sure can hit, and he would be a great platoon for Busch, but he is too good a hitter to come off the bench as a pinch hitter and play 1st against lefties.
  7. Yes he would. As a 5th starter he would be good.
  8. Fair. Just making you aware it was did 2. I think I would trade Brown for those two. I value your opinion and understand why you don’t see Suarez as big an upgrade as many do. But I can’t help but love the idea of his bat in the line up. However, I would also be ok with Kelly in one deal and Castro in another and not lose Brown.
  9. Assad is not the answer, even if he comes back perfectly healthy, unless the question is who could be a good 5th starter on a Cubs team that wants to contend for the WS, To that, the answer could be Assad.
  10. All 3 of those guys would cost a decent amount of young talent. Bradley has a lot of control left. But the Rays seem to value prospects differently. So who knows who they want.
  11. It isn’t one rental. It is two, with one being the best hitter available. I wouldn’t either for just one of those guys. But for both, I think I would.
  12. Don’t see the Cubs trading Wiggins for rentals. Brown is probably the best pitcher they would give up.
  13. I would be fine with any minor league pitcher except Wiggins if they got both Suarez and Kelly. None of the top 5 bats in the system either. So no to Cassie, Ballasteros, Rojas, Alcantara, or Long as well as Wiggins.
  14. Probably not Alcantara either. But for both those guys I agree with you.
  15. Little has been bad lately. And he isn’t even throwing as hard as before. And, tbh, he shocked even before this. No idea why he gets so much love here. He is the Cubs version of the back up quarterback.
  16. Bold prediction. Not sure I like the idea of Alcantara. Do the Cubs have to trade Cassie or Wiggins for him? If so, pass.
  17. I think if Brown gets them thru 5, even going well we might see Flexen for 2. Then Keller and if need be, Palencia.
  18. If Triantos got the Cubs Suarez I would be all in on that one. But he is probably as high as I would go.
  19. This is so not true. I do not agree that the Cubs won’t win the division without those upgrades. This is a huge overreaction to the Brewers playing well right now. I don’t expect the Brewers to go away. But I also think the Cubs can win the division without all the moves you are suggesting. They are a better team than the Brewers as they are now.
  20. Also, tbf, Cubs were one hit or one less baserunning mistake away from scoring 3 or 4 on Crochet. They didn’t do a bad job against him. 8 hits and a few walks. Just didn’t get the big hit. Stuff happens. Move on.
  21. This I agree with. I would have rather seen Brasier or Pomoranz, or just leave Thielbar in. He threw 3 pitches.
  22. They shouldn’t dfa him, but you are exaggerating his effectiveness. He has dodged a lot of bullets when he pitches. I have no idea why CC doesn’t use Brasier more. Pressley shouldn’t be dfa but he isn’t nails either
  23. Nice start by Cade. I really like this kid. He is going to be very good. Too many walks today, but still a great start.
