    I know on occasion the scorekeeper can award a win to a guy who isn’t technically the pitcher of record. But that is usually done when the guy who is the pitcher of record sucked ad got lucky to be in the game when his team turned the game around. The scorekeeper can award someone else who may have been effective, with the win. But Horton was the pitcher of record after 5 and the Cubs never trailed. I thought that was the requirement to get a win using standard rules.

    I don’t really like that idea. Wind blowing out any lead is not safe.

    I don’t think this is true. You have to be the pitcher of record at the end of the 5th and the team not lose the lead after that. If someone faces one batter and is replaced, if that replacement doesn’t thru 5 he doesn’t get the win.. or am I mistaken?🤷

    It would be his second. He got the win in NY.

    It was. But he did give up one real loud and long ball to the deepest part of the field that has it gone out would have changed his line to 3 runs in 4 innings. I didn’t really notice much more hard contract, but that one was crushed.

    I know what they did against them. But they were tight games. I said the Sox play them tight, and IMO they view these games as their biggest games of the year. Seems they line up the best pitching they can against them and if I remember correctly, Robert came back from an injury right before the Cubs series. He sat versus Milwaukee . Didn’t Morel hit a game winning walk off against them to save them from losing to the Sox? Weren’t the other games at close? I think they won 3 games by one run and another by 2. My only statement was I do worry about the games against the Sox, especially with the Cubs treading water right now.

    I don’t think they will wait long in Shaw. They just wanted to see him take aggressive swings and he seems to be doing that now.

    Shaw just walked it off with his second homer of the game.

    Scare me as well. TBH, I would gladly take 2 of 3. Seems these games always mean more to the Sox than others during the season. And no matter the records, they always play the Cubs tough. On top of that, Fridaynlooks like a wind blowing out day, so no telling how it ends up. Last I looked winds were 15-20mph, out.

    His second time up he hit a rocket to the second baseman that handcuffed him. Was over 100mph. If he keeps hitting the ball hard I expect him to be back by the end of May. Hope so, anyway.

    My guess is Busch won’t start either and Kelly will be the DH. Turner at 1st.

    I agree with your basic point. But we are actually more than 25% done with the regular season.

    You said they would bring Shaw back at that time. I thought you meant if Shaw plays well the next week, he could come up and Moses go down. So are you saying when they send Moises down they also release someone (Lopez) so that along with activating Happ they would then bring back Shaw? To me Ballasteros going down and Shaw coming up are two entirely different transactions. Moises goes down when Happ is ready. Shaw comes up if/when he is ready. Lopez cut.

    Rose may have been a scumbag, but there are plenty of those in the HOF. If we are putting guys in based on what they did as a ballplayer, without cheating the game by taking enhancement drugs, he belongs I. The ball.

    Brown threw over 100 pitches last start. And they were hitting him. I think it was fine that he pulled him. Problem is Merryweather sucks.

    I didn’t like Merryweather to start the season with the team. Then he fooled me for a bit by doing well. Now he is exactly what I thought he was. Time to move away from him. He sucks.
