  1. Due to his remarks? How about due to the fact that he sucks?
  2. I think we should change the thread title to "patterson will be tendered" because I hate double negatives. now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
  3. Should we just thaw out his body, or should we do both his body and his head? Because I think the easiest way to freak out the other team is to have a headless Ted Williams in right. Sure, he'd probably suck defensively, but we dealt with Sammy playing right for a number of years, so I think we could deal with a headless Teddy Ballgame for a year or two.
  4. pm a poster named "JC" I believe he lives in Wrigleyville, as a few others............he might be a place to start JC lives in indiana, IIRC. I live in Wrigleyville. I get various mailings from the Cubs in regards to the community every few months, but I usually just throw them away. if you'd like, I'll scan them and send them to you.
  5. nah, you've gotta inject the heroin into your eyeballs.
  6. He put it in your head as punishment for saying "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas."

    Poker

The cards know when they've won or lost.
  8. I don't think Green would waive his NTC to play in Chicago. From what I understand, he wants to stay in the Southwest. I thought Green was from around Chicago...or am I making that up?
  9. 1. All-Stars are voted on by the fans, and don't really count for squat. 2. You don't just trade players based on what they did last year, you trade them based on their future projections. 3. You don't just trade players, you trade contracts.
  10. At this point Patterson. Honestly, I haven't completely lost faith in him, and if he hit .275+, had 20+ HRs, good RBI production and had 25+ SBs he'd be our best option and give us better D in RF. I'd take Floyd as the best of your above options (if he was available) but still think CPAT should be our first option. As much as I enjoy the fact that you just made a CPAT argument in about, oh viewtopic.php?t=27574&start=90 viewtopic.php?t=27593&start=15 viewtopic.php?t=27573&start=30 viewtopic.php?t=27518&start=45 viewtopic.php?t=27514&start=60 5 threads in a 45 minute span, and did your darndest to make it look like a good idea, it's still, unfortunately, a bad idea. CPAT in center was a bad enough idea. Even the Cubs figured that one out. So how would CPAT in right, a position where an offensive threat is even more of a requirement than center, not a terrible idea?

    Nascar

What if your car blows up? You don't have any control over that. In baseball, what if your bat breaks because the tree it was made out of didn't get proper watering twelve years ago?

    Nascar

Me. I showed up wearing a unitard and everything, and they wouldn't even let me compete.
  13. Brian Johnson? http://www.thunderstruck.nl/brian.jpg
  14. You know Neifi's six feet tall and fairly rotund, right?
  15. After this post, right? I'd like to go but the holidays and season tickets are eating up all my disposable income at the moment. Hopefully, some tickets will be available in the springtime, especially if Japan and Cuba both make the semifinals. Yeah, I realized how dumb it was after I wrote it. But hey, I haven't slept much recently. Or maybe I've slept too much. I don't remember.
  16. I'm not in there often, but while the ushers usually tell people in the seats to stop smoking in a timely manner, it's been my impression that the people standing in the back go largely unnoticed. Hmmm. I've got a couple of buddies I sit in the bleachers with several times a season, and they always bitch that they have to go down on the ramp where they can't see the game in order to smoke. If they can't go a few hours without a smoke that's their problem. believe me, I have no sympathy for them whatsoever.
  17. Except that Wilson is 9 years younger. Plus all the Lincoln Park Trixies at Wrigley will enjoy is flowing golden locks. Honestly, he would be a good pick up for the Cubs as long as Mabry subs for him about once a week. I think you're getting Wrigley confused with Cell One Ball Park... :D It's been my experience that Wrigley girls are hot in a sorority girl kind of way and CellOne girls are hot in a stripper kind of way. There should really be a separate thread to how hot Wrigley girls are. When my friends and I went up to Wrigley for the June 28-30 Brewers games there were at least two hot girls right near us in the bleachers for each of the three games. :D Not close enough that you could hear them talk and be turned off, eh?

  19. And some bleacher news: Guess that means the bleachers will be largely non-smoking. They have been largely non-smoking. The standing people up on the walkway weren't allowed to smoke, they had to go down onto the ramps.
  20. I'm going.... to pay no attention to it whatsoever.
  21. If I were a Cards fan, I'd be pretty pissed off about it.
  22. I just got back from watching this one at Murphy's bleachers and getting bithced at by all the bears fans (I'm wearing my Big Ben #7 sweatshirt). Good times. I don't think the Steelers can actually get that far in the playoffs, but I'll still take it for today.
  23. Scott Po is nowhere near my list of best possible roster. Unless you want the best possible batboy.
  24. i think we should offer maddux + 10 million dollars to florida for some of their newfound prospects. they need someone the fans have heard of besides cabrera and willis. Not much point. The fans won't show up no matter who's in the ballpark.
  25. Win shares, 2005 (from the Hardball Times): Patterson 4 (all fielding, by the way) Neifi 12 Burnitz 17 Huff 14 Lugo 24 Wilkerson 23
