  1. I think Lou just went Kathy Bates in Misery on Caridad's arm.
  2. I'm all for this. Me too. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded to and locked up long term by the Yankees or Red Sox before he hits FA. Yankees don't really have a place for him unless they make him a DH. I would assume that Fielder would be a DH right away regardless of whether he went to the Yankees or Red Sox. The Yankees' lineup with Tex and ARod batting 3-4 and then Prince hitting 5th as the DH is a terrifying idea. And if their dream comes true, they'll have Granderson and Crawford at the top of the lineup... Oy, I wish the Cubs had the right people in place to make a lineup like that happen.
  3. I'm all for this. Me too. Though I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded to and locked up long term by the Yankees or Red Sox before he hits FA. Yankees don't really have a place for him unless they make him a DH. And with Jeter and A-Rod getting older, I would leave that spot open for them. I was pretty sure the Red Sox had a hard-on for Gonzalez and it was only a matter of time before he was traded there. I'm all for signing Fielder. My only concern is that he would turn into his father and hit a rapid decline after 30.
  4. I don't think he's genuinely sorry at all. I mean, the guy wouldn't even cop to the reason he used steroids. He said it was only for his health. That said, I would rather he be met with no extreme reaction either way. He's a man with a tarnished reputation that now has a job doing what he knew best. He's not a hero or a villain.
  5. Well, that's just a disgusting statement. I need to shower.
  6. How is Zambrano's no-hitter not on the list?
  7. The nice thing about this contract for Minnesota is that in the later years, Mauer can be transitioned to 1B or DH while maintaining his offensive prowess.
  8. And really who would trade a multiple-MVP widely seen as one of the greatest in a generation for a year of Ryan Howard. So much of the Cards' success has relied on Pujols that anything else would be a downgrade.
  9. Howard's contract is up at the same time as Pujols. Howard for Pujols is just silly.
  10. He's going to mentor them on how to feel good about yourself for being kept off playoff rosters.
  11. Are the Padres still looking to unload Heath Bell?
  12. Oh yeah, you're right. Well, that just makes him more of a stud in my book.
  13. I'll never understand what made Wilson think that it would be a good idea to charge the mound. He got the idea from Robin Ventura. Was that the most humiliating baseball beat down of all time? 60 year old Nolan Ryan giving him noogies! Even more humiliating was the fact that Ryan continued to pitch with a bloody lip and Ventura's blood on his jersey. He was such a stud.
  14. I'll never understand what made Wilson think that it would be a good idea to charge the mound. He got the idea from Robin Ventura.
  15. Upon hearing this news Dusty Baker called Riggleman a pansy and reiterated his desire to have Chapman pitch 300 innings with a minimum 120 pitch count.
  16. Watching Gonzalez boot that double play ball is the most painful sports instance I've ever seen. It produced all the same feelings as the first time.
  17. A prevading culture of steroids in the A's system strikes again. Allegedly fixed. But I have no proof.
  18. It was better than the 2003 NCLS Game 6 ESPN Classic showed last night as part of their "Heartbreakers Marathon."
  19. Sarah and it's not even close.
  20. I wish they could find an alternative to the chain-link fencing though. It's just so prison-like.
  21. Let's not forget a certain Arthur Fonzerelli.
  22. I hope they use a used car as the pedestal for the statue.
  23. I've never hated a cubs player more than Kevin Gregg. He was a terrible trade. He was a terrible closer. He was just terrible. I'd prefer he go to the Pirates or Royals just so his level of talent could match the rest of the team.
