I think Jim has a better idea of which prospects are going to plan out than others. I think he saw the writing on the wall with prospects who we all thought would make for, at minimum, solid players (i.e. Hill, Beltran, Harris, etc.) Maybe he's building up the prospects so that other clubs think they're really getting a steal when/if he eventually trades them. There's no reason to talk down or neglect your farm system if you believe at the least you have people other organizations would like to have. And specifically to your point about having rookies play, I think that has more to do with Dusty than Jim. I really believe that the Hollandsworth signing was based on Jim's premise that Dubois would get the majority of the playing time based on Hollandworth's everyday playing ability. Unfortunately for all of us, Jim underestimated Dusty's "veteran" fetish.
