  1. yes, more frustration. Why should your opinion mean more than Rocket's, or mine, or anyone's? Age does not equate wisdom. Age does not give you a magical insight to what is good and what is not. I know plenty of 50 year old's that I'm much smarter than. I know 17 year olds that are smarter than everyone here. Joe Morgan is 62 and a Hall Of Famer. End of debate.
  2. It's always nice to come back from class and see the Cubs winning. Granted that hasn't happened in a while, but it's still nice.
  3. "And now I have to go, if I can fit my head through the doorway." HAHAHA
  4. Bynum LF Perez SS Walker 1B Jones CF Mabry RF Hairston 2B Theriot 3B Blanco C Rusch P I got Walker and Mabry at the right spots in the order but wrong positions. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. And I figured I should put Rusch in the lineup to remove any doubt on whether the lineup was real or not. I knew it was fake. I seriously hope you are all joking. We've seen some horrible Dusty line-ups. But never has he substituted for 4, 5, or 6 of his major players all in one day. He usually does it for 3 one day, and get's the next 3 tommorow. essentially ruining TWO games. I was giving Dusty the benefit of the doubt and I figured maybe he would realize that he should only ruin one game and the best way to do that would be to get everybody in the game that hasn't played in a while.

  6. There could be White Sox fans voting that affect the poll. They probably want Dusty to stick around - whether that's for the year or for the next couple year - because they know it will kill the team.

  8. So basically, 18% of the people who took the poll think Dusty should be around next year and 82% don't. That's saying something.
  9. http://www.fishstripes.com/story/2005/10/23/11047/956 I searched on Google for "Juan Pierre trade" and this is what ame up. That trade would sure have been nice eh?
  10. Being a Lakers fan I love to say Suckramento Queens. Also, I go to UC Davis and our "rival" is Sacramento State - Suck State.
  11. Sox = Red Sox Sox = White Sox Sox is stupid, just like Cards or Flubs or Scrubs or whatever unclever play on a team's name that can be concocted. All it's going to do is rile people up. My dad refers to the Cubs as the Flubs sometimes. I think it's funny. It's just good natured ribbing. If you get riled up over this maybe you shouldn't be watching baseball. Have you seen some of the shirts that Red Sox fans wear about the Yankees? Calling the White Sox the White Sox is nothing compared to the Red Sox fans.
  12. agreed. root for absolute failure and that means a lot of guys will have sucked. not a good way to go into 2007. I didn't say that I wanted the Cubs to tank the rest of the season. I just said that I didn't think Hendry would fire Baker. Based on that belief, the best case scenario is Baker doesn't get an extention at the end of the season. I didn't say anything about failure.
  13. What makes you right and them wrong? Bonds was well past 400 HR when he supposedly started taking steriods. He has always been a leg-driven power hitter that currently has minimal power from his legs. Who cares how many home runs Bonds hit before he took steroids? I never said that Bonds wasn't a great player before. I've openly admitted that Bonds would have been one of the best to ever play even if he didn't take steroids. I believe Bonds is the only player with 400 HR/400 SB which he achieved in 1998 which is before he started juicing. Are you saying that every player's knees go out when they age? Because if you think that you are horribly wrong. Players get older and all of a sudden they can't swing the bat as quickly anymore or they aren't able to pick up pitches quick enough. But the breakdown Bonds is having is directly tied to steroid use which is the exact same thing that happened to McGwire. My dad is 53 and he can run FAR better than Bonds can right now. The guy juiced heavily and now he's paying for it. I hope he's in pain every day and I hope he suffers. He deserves it.
  14. the more you make him run, the sooner he will be gone? I'd walk him just to make him run the bases. I think McGwire is an even better comparison than Sosa. Agreed. Sosa was done because he stood 8 feet away from the plate and couldn't come close to touching the outside pitch. His body never had the chance to fully break down on him. McGwire and Bonds are deteriorating before our very eyes.
  15. Honestly, I think the best thing Cubs fans can hope for is Baker not being offered an extention. I think he'll finish out the season and management will determine what to do with him after that. But I just don't see him getting fired.
  16. I just saw it and I love how the interviewer (Karl Everett?) ended the conversation with "Hall Of Famer Joe Morgan" like it's supposed to bring some credibility to Morgan's statements.
  17. I don't think Dusty is the whole reason but he should have to accept some of the blame.
  18. I know it was one of the three against Philadelphia. I think it was the first game.
  19. It's not like anything has changed. The Cubs are still losing. All the reasons for losing have already been talked about numerous times.
  20. I keep hearing this question numerous times every single day on ESPN whether that is SportsCenter/Around The Horn/PTI, etc but nobody ever mentions the correct reason. A few years of hardcore steroid use is catching up to him. People just say his knees are bad and are wearing down because he's old. Jim Rome was gone last week but I'm sure he's said it at some point because he's the only one who has the balls to. I'm just sick of hearing the same old thing over and over again. Why are people so afraid of mentioning steroids? It just baffles me. EDIT: Another reason I just heard that idiot John Kruk said is it's because of his swing but no mention of steroids. Sure he might not be swinging well, but don't you think that it's because he body is screwed up due to steroids?
