  1. Neifi, Rusch, and Jones are all guaranteed money. Touche. Fixed.
  2. Hmmm.... I have 3 in 57 innings: 11 innings, 0 runs Friday (L, 1-0) 9 innings, 0 runs Thursday (L, 6-0) 9 innings, 1 run Wednesday (L, 8-1) 9 innings, 0 runs Tuesday (L, I forgot - 0) 9 innings, 2 runs Monday (W, 2-1) 9 innings, 0 runs Sunday (L, 9-0) 1 inning, 0 runs on Saturday (scored 0 runs in the 9th, L, 16-2) Thats an average of 1 run ever 19 innings, 1 run every 2 games and 1 inning. Plus we haven't hit a HR in 7 games. Wow It's 3 runs in 56 innings. All of your numbers are correct except in the win on Monday the Cubs didn't bat in the ninth which would mean 8 innings.
  3. There isn't anything wrong with the 2007 season yet. We know something will go wrong, but there is always hope that it won't.
  4. So the 1992 Cubs have the shutout streak broken but the 2006 Cubs have been more inept at scoring runs. After I wrote it I figured somebody had the shutout streak beat, but 3 runs in 6 games is pathetic
  5. When was the last time... a team was shut out on consecutive nights? a team was shut out in 4 out of 6 games? a team scored 1 run in 4 games? a team scored 3 runs in 6 games? I know the Twins were outscored by Detroit 33-1 in the sweep last weekend. Even if you include the following game that's still 3 runs in 4 games. But before that stretch they scored 7 runs and after that stretch they scored 5. Even they weren't as pathetic as the Cubs have been.
  6. What are the predictions for how many consecutive innings the Cubs will go scoreless? They are sitting at 25 right now.
  7. Can we just fast forward through this year so we can start next year? Although, on second thought, I don't know why I would want to do that since we'll just end up getting let down again. But there's always hope.
  8. 7 and 7 time! Maybe straight 7. I prefer absinthe. Te-kill-ya for me tonight.
  9. 25 innings with out scoring a run 2 straight shutouts 4 shutouts in 6 games There aren't any words in the English dictionary capable of describing how bad our offense is.
  10. Ruth did it on Hot dogs and Beer. Phily could be the worst place for Bonds to go. I just don't see other towns giving it to him as bad as them. Maybe LA. But Phily is right up there.
  11. Come on Barrett. Pretend you are playing St. Louis in Wrigley.
  12. For anybody that didn't see the warm welcome Philadephia gave Barry Bonds today, here you go. The sign is hilarious. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2435124
  13. Can somebody please get a big hit? Preferably right now.
  14. Thank you, thank you. Please, hold your applause.
  15. So you're a Golden State fan? My team is the Lakers who are on the verge of a 2003 Cubs-esque collapse. I just know they are going to lose Game 7 by more than 10 points. Book it.
  16. At least the Suckramento Queens are losing to the Spurs though. Something good to come home to.
  17. Cubs have now gone 24 innings without scoring a run.
  18. Just got back from work and it's great to see that our offense showed up tonight. At least Z pitched well. Too bad he won't get rewarded.
  19. We could round up a team from this board and beat the Cubs.
  20. Oh really? I beg to differ. i know, you're right, kerry should have struck out an average of 23 batters per game and won every game he's pitched in. i think it's absolutely the mark of a casual fan to see wood strike out 20 batters in a game and then get called a bust when he can't repeat it in the years following. that was the worst thing he could have ever done, because after that, the edward k's of the world began expecting him to be some sort of ruthian mega-legend. The listing shows that it isn't expecting a lot of a so called great pitcher to win 15 games in a season.
  21. there is a ray of Hope its May 4 Derrek Lee will be coming back Wood is set to come back werent the astros 15 games under 500 at the end of may last year? we know where they went. hell they were 6 games under at the end of June Can people please stop citing the Astros? We don't have a rotation of Clemens-Petitte-Oswalt even if Prior and Wood come back healthy. Those 3 were pitching out of their minds the second half of last year. If we go 15 under .500 at any point in the season we are screwed. I guarantee it.
  22. The Cubs are going to force me to drink...oh wait, I already do.
  23. I believe Shawn Estes is on the Padres. I get your point though.
