  1. A problem with what? with a professional baseball player getting doubled off second three times in two weeks - that's what this thread is about, isn't it? Did you read the whole thread? Apparently not. Let's see what I've said about his baserunning. Not once have I said that Jacque's baserunning is okay and if you would the whole thread you would know this. I'm just saying that Jacque is not our biggest problem right now and I'm sick of everybody bashing him relentlessly. It's just stupid. The guy has been one of our better hitters this year and all some people can do on this board is bash him. That's what I'm talking about. Do I need to put it in bold for you to understand? If so, here you go. I AM NOT EXCUSING JACQUE JONES AND HIS HORRIBLE BASERUNNING AND HE SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS. Happy now? Do you get it?
  2. It's about time.
  3. To add to this, when do we stop giving Aramis the benefit of the doubt? Why aren't people booing him yet? Jones gets booed all the time and tonight had something thrown at him by a fan. I went along with the "benefit of the doubt" argument as well as the "small sample size" argument and let it go. But where do you draw the line? Aramis has 130 AB's which is almost a quarter of a season. When do you start asking if something is wrong with him?
  4. Again, I understand that it's happened three times. I've read the whole thread and have heard that point numerous times already. There is no need to keep bringing it up to make your point. Eventually you have to say something else. I'm not trying to excuse Jones's errors and his baserunning COULD end up costing us a game. But nobody knows for sure. The problems with this team go far deeper than Jacque Jones and he is the least of our worries right now.
  5. I've already addressed his baserunning. As for costing them a game, can you see the future? Do you know for sure if he will cost the Cubs a game? No you don't. I wouldn't be surprised if he does, but until he actually does, you can't say he will.
  6. What game? Barrett won the game we swept, not jones so far jones has done more bad than good Jones did hit the three run homer though. And like somebody else said, Jones has been one of our better hitters recently. I'm not trying to excuse him for his baserunning though. yes he did and did hit another against the marlins but his noodle arm and lack of a brain have cost us Jacque Jones is not the reason the Cubs have lost 14 out of 17 games. hes part of the reason, there isint only one person to blame I know that he's not free from blame, but honestly, how many of those 14 losses did Jacque cost us? i never said it cost us wins, at the time, like tonight, and 2 weeks ago tonight, it potentially cost us runs with men at 3rd So Jacque has made mistakes, who hasn't? Jacque is not the one we need to blame the most. Aramis and Pierre still aren't hitting and the starting pitching with the exception of Z, hasn't showed up at all. There are other players that need to shoulder more blame than Jones.

  10. I'm not sure if this was sarcasm or truth, but Springer does deserve to be suspended. Does the fact Russ SPringer's heater isn't capable of hurting anyone mitigate the crime any? I doubt it.
  11. Brilliant insight by Harold Reynolds: "At first I didn't think [springer] was throwing at Bonds but after hearing about the history between the two, he definately was." As if the first pitch behind Bonds and the next three which were all inside didn't give it away.
  12. I'm not sure if this was sarcasm or truth, but Springer does deserve to be suspended.
  13. They just reported on SportsCenter that one of the referees got pulled from the match because a picture was printed in a newspaper where the guy was wearing a Barcelona jersey.
  14. I doubt you'll see Prior pitch because if he's at AAA, that'd mean it's more than likely his second rehab start (meaning he'd have to have one in the next few days) and also because the Cubs would prefer to have a home minor league game for the rehab assignment. I figured as such, mainly the part about pitching in Iowa rather than pitching on the road. But I can always hope.
  15. So you are so sick of Bonds coverage you start threads and devote your sig to the topic? I put the picture in my sig because that is the most original and funniest steroids sign I have ever seen. It takes three brain cells to draw an asterisk or write "Bonds took steroids and it took even less brain power to throw a cork on the field at Sammy. But this is a one of a kind and it takes up two whole sections.
  16. Boumsong got a spot. Also, out of the 4 good young defenders I named (Mexes, Silvestre, Christianval and Zebina), only one got a roster spot. I will now bet against France. Let's see how long their scoreless streak gets extended to in WC play. It's at 270 minutes right now :D They'll forfeit at halftime of their first game.
  17. Haha. Imagine if Prior pitched on $1 hot dog night. There would be a whole lot of hot dogs sold that night. I don't have that much luck. I just know he's going to pitch on Wednesday night when I have a mandatory lab.
  18. I live in Northern California. I have to put up with more Bonds coverage then you could ever imagine. So don't anybody tell me that they get sick of hearing about Bonds just because they lead SC and BBTN with him. I get it in every newspaper and every sportstalk radio also.
  19. How is my thread talking about how awesome it was that he got beaned elevating his publicity. Yup, I carry just as much weight as ESPN does. Maybe I should start my own network. Hmmm...
  20. I'm glad we only scored 4 runs today. No need to waste runs with Z pitching well. We need those runs for other games.
  21. I'm going to at least one game anyway (Thursday's are $1 hot dog nights) but if Prior is making a start, my plans might change.
  22. Russ Springer basically threw 5 balls inside on Bonds before beaning him. I just saw the sequence again on SportsCenter and they just showed a view from the first base side of the plate and you could see a bunch of Houston fans jump up and start cheering when he got beaned. AWESOME.
  23. There were a couple things posted in today's game thread about Prior potentially being back by Memorial Day so I'm wondering if anybody knows if any rehab starts have been scheduled? The main reason I want to know this is because the Iowa Cubs are coming to Sacramento next week from Monday through Thursday and I would like to know if Prior will be making a rehab start there so I can go to the game.
  24. I would say yes until Lee comes back because when Lee comes back I would put Walker second in the lineup. I would at least give him a chance to see how he does.
