  1. Maybe they are being truthfull and will actually tell their producers that Cubs fans are getting fed up with their crap, but I doubt it. They didn't even address your concerns/questions. They saw "Joe Morgan sucks" and feebly attempted to ease your pain. Weasels. If you wouldn't have put "Joe Morgan sucks" at the end of the email you probably wouldn't have even got any response at all.
  2. I highly doubt they will stop showing it. I understand why they would show it when we play the Marlins. But there is no reason to show it or talk about when we play any other team. Morgan and Miller spent five minutes talking about it during the Cubs-Cardinals game on ESPN on the first sunday of the year.
  3. Does anyone else think that if a pitcher makes an error that allows a runner on that he should be charged an earned run for that? I understand what an unearned run is, but if a pitcher makes an error it's his fault and you're letting him of the hook. For example, in today's Cubs-Pirates game, Novoa could have got out of the inning but couldn't pick up the ball and four runs ended up scoring that inning. All four were unearned and two were charged to Guzman and two to Novoa. All he had to do was pick up the ball and throw it to first base but he screwed it up. I think his ERA should show that because it was on him to make the play and he didn't have to rely on anybody else to make the play. Thoughts?
  4. Can somebody tell Jacque that he isn't a pitcher and he should throw the ball further than 60 feet in the air before it hits the ground?
  5. Damn, I didn't even realize he was still out there. This is a horrible, horrible decision. The guy is coming off arm problems, and you are gonna throw him out there for a 6th inning when he's already above 90 pitches!?! It's not like he's even pitching that great. yeah, but don't expect dusty to think about that. Which is why he has no buisness being the manager of my team if I were Jim Hendry. Well what choice do he have? The bullpen is spend as it is and our next day off is in two weeks. Glendon Rusch? Roberto Novoa? Anyone other than leaving in ANGEL GUZMAN. A guy who has had a bad history of injuries in the past and who I would prefer to be a large part of our future. You would really have Glendon Rusch come in to the game in that situation? Are you kidding me?
  6. So Z can get angry, break another bat over his leg, and injure himself? Let's just leave Z on the bench until he has to pitch.
  7. It's the bottom of the lineup. He was also over 90 pitches and hasn't been brilliant with those. He's also Angel Guzman, who's main concern has been not getting hurt. Pitchers spot is coming up first next inning which as I'm typing this leads to... the infamous Dusty Baker double switch. Should have seen that one coming.
  8. Our offense is REALLY hurting without Lee.
  9. Good job Jacque. Now that you've mastered the DP ball, why don't you try getting a hit or two.
  10. Right now Guzman's line looks very similar to Marshall's line from his second start: Guzman: 5IP, 4H, 4ER, 3BB, 7SO, 1HR Marshall: 5IP, 5H, 4ER, 1BB, 2SO, 1HR The only difference is more walks and strikeouts by Guzman. But the overall production is the same.
  11. I agree that the better talent is in Europe, but I would like to see our players give the MLS more respect. Is the MLS ever going to be as highly regarded as the top European divisions? Not in the short term. But we need to have a solid American league to develop players and hopefully in the long run we can build the MLS up to be competative.
  12. You obviously never saw Santo run the bases !!! That's before my time.
  13. As long as he's not hurt he can somersault into 2B for all I care... True. That replay just showed that if Ramirez had been running hard he would have made it into second no problem.
  14. That was one of the ugliest slides I have ever seen.
  15. Because he was pitching so much better? Jerome Williams as a starter pitched better than Rusch, and that's not saying much. Remember that Marshall didn't pitch too well in his first couple starts either but he's doing well right now. Let's give Guzman a little time. I mean if Rusch can get five starts, why should Guzman not be given the same liberty?
  16. Why would he honestly say this? Doesn't he want to further the MLS and have it become a more world renowned league? I don't want all of our good players leaving to play in Europe. I want them to stay in the US and play. I know people have differing opinions on this matter but you would think that a former US National Team player and former MLS player wouldn't want all of the good American players to leave the US.
  17. Obviously Marshall is going to suffer a bit of a dropoff. But if he continues to pitch well there is nothing, not even a healthy Wade Miller, that should kick him out of the rotation. Wood will push out Rusch/Hill/Williams and Prior will push out Guzman. No offense to Wade Miller, but I don't think Marshall should go anywhere anytime soon. Now, if he starts to lose his touch and starts getting hit consistently, then we can drop him down to AAA. But until that happens he should stay in the rotation.
  18. That's the one where they have to drill a hole in him? What movie is that? Perhaps you are thinking of this? http://movies.infinitecoolness.com/06/totalrecall07.jpg That's disgusting.
  19. So is Hill for sure starting on Thursday?
