  1. At least we can replace Rusch rather than move to a 4-man rotation and wear down our pitchers. Research shows that a 4-man rotation would have no adverse affects on pitchers' health. It's high pitch counts that contribute to injuries. I wouldn't be surprised to see Boston try a 4-man rotation at some point this season. I don't think a 4 man rotation would work for the Cubs. Maddux is getting older and Marshall and Guzman are young. Wood and Prior will be on strict pitch counts when they come back. It may work for Boston but not for the Cubs.
  2. Estes was bad, but he at least had a couple good games for the Cubs.
  3. Get a bunch of booze in me and I would be having fun in a Cubs blowout also.
  4. I made a point about that same thing a few pages back.
  5. I started laughing after the 4 HR. Wow, Doug Davis is 2-2 on the day. This is pathetic. It's going to be one of those days.
  6. Well, David Aardsma, you're pitching through the fifth, maybe the sixth, whether you like it or not. You don't have a choice.
  7. Rusch is giving up home runs at a quicker pace than the draft picks are coming in.
  8. Yeah but the Reds are in first with the best record in Baseball. It's just a matter of time before the Reds fall. I would rather have the Astros get as many losses as they can, especially as long as Clemens is "retired". We'll see. They aren't doing it with their pitching, considering a team ERA over 5.00, so someone has to stop those bats. The same thing happened last year though.
  9. Maddux's pregame theory about a pitcher having the advantage over the hitter if they haven't seen each other apparently doesn't apply to crappy pitchers like Rusch.

  11. Not quite warning track power for Hank. Oh great. Glendon's coming back out.
  12. Oh i wouldn't apologize for bringing up politics. If people can talk about "hot chicks" in game threads...or anything else off topic...then surely politics is fair game too. I'm just sayin'.. 1) A mod already asked to not bring it up. 2) That comparison isnt' remotely accurate. People are infinitely more passionate and argumentative about politics than other off-topic things that may come up in the game thread. Yeah, I'm pretty sure everybody in here hates Glendon Rusch. I think that's unanimous.
  13. Can it please start raining so Fatty doesn't kill the bullpen. The last thing the Cubs need is a tired pen going into a stretch where they don't have an off day until May 15? Is this too much to ask for?
  14. Maybe we should get him a bro...or is it a manzere?
  15. Huh? The analogy needs no explanation. Sure it does. I don't see any point in making a comparison like that. He's incompetent, he sucks at his job, he lets everyone around him down, and he should be fired. I don't see it needing an explanation. I don't agree or disagree with you. But the take the politics to the Social forum. No need for it here.
  16. Wait you think this game is over with 8 innings left to play? Well I guess Glendon could randomly disappear or something and we'd have a shot. The longer Glendon stays in, the less chance we have of winning.
  17. Rusch contines where he left off and gives up a hit to Damien Miller.
  18. Ugh. Now I has to see fatty again. I hope he doesn't take up my whole TV screen.
