  1. Can you start a thread on Glendon Rusch please? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/freejju/tigerglendon.jpg Seconded.
  2. Which is offset in your scenario by 130+ games of Blanco. Wells isn't that much better than Barrett, and especially when you consider the difference in what they'll be paid. Agreed. Keep Barrett and use the money saved to upgrade another position.
  3. I was overjoyed when I heard the news and pinched myself to make sure it was actually real.
  4. A couple years ago Man U was the Yankees but not anymore because Chelsea has inherited that title in the last couple years.
  5. How can Ou still be ranked that high? Bad ass defense, best running back in the nation and a stable of talented receivers? Look, Bomar had talent, and surely would have had a nice season, but last year he only tossed 10 TDs to go with his 10 picks. And we still beat Oregon in the Holiday bowl, and without that phantom loss in Texas Tech, we would have been 9-3. All that with the toughest schedule in the nation. If it were up to me, OU would be between 15-20 in the polls, but you know how pollsters do. There isn't a legit number one team in the nation at this stage of the year, so the polls are going to be kind of wonky for awhile. Last year or this year? I don't think it matters because they play in the Big 12 which doesn't have much after Texas and OU anyway.
  6. The Yankees were willing to take Cory Lidle from the Phillies as well. And the Cubs couldn't use Cory Lidle? I didn't say that the Cubs couldn't use Cory Lidle. I was just saying that the Yankees were willing to take Lidle as well and that helped the trade go through. That and Abreu was willing to waive his no trade clause for the Yankees - something I don't think he would have for the Cubs.
  7. I never get tired of seeing this picture.
  8. As I said in the other thread, there is no harm at all in giving O'Malley a few starts at the Major League level to give him a shot to show what he can do. The Cubs aren't doing anything this year and they need to see what they have for next year. By giving him a few starts they can find out if he will be in the plans for next year or not.
  9. Beckett allowed 16 baserunners in 5 2/3 IP which is ridiculous and the Yankees had 23 baserunners total today.
  10. The Yankees were willing to take Cory Lidle from the Phillies as well.
  11. I hope Dusty doesn't ruin Z.
  12. Sounds like Bobby Abreu with a lot of 2B and walks but with a lack of HR power. Definately wouldn't mind having him in the outfield.
  13. Texas is returning 16 starters this year and, while they do lose Vince Young, they do have a very good team this year. With Bomar getting kicked out of Oklahoma there isn't much competition in the Big 12 for Texas this year. Their only real tough game is against Ohio State and that will be at home. If they win that game, they very easily could run the table and find themselves in the BCS Title game. Even if they do lose to Ohio State, they should still finish with just 1 loss and win the Big 12 again.
  14. He finally snapped, got into a fight with some White Sox fans, and is in jail right now. I'm going to go with hospital. Yeah, that's probably more likely.
  15. I knew that New York had the Mets, but I didn't realize they had 2 teams. Thanks for the information.
  16. actually, if you give him starts over hill, guzman, marmol, etc, the cubs would be losing something...a chance to see who fits in the rotation next year. How do you know that O'Malley doesn't fit into the 2007 plans? Can you somehow see into the future? I realize that he isn't going to come out and throw 8 shutout innings every single time out, but give the guy a chance to show what he can do. If he gets shelled, then we don't have to worry about where he fits in next year. If he pitches well, then we either have a piece for 2007 or a player that could potentially be traded in the offseason.
  17. He finally snapped, got into a fight with some White Sox fans, and is in jail right now.
  18. Can the Cubs go back to walking 6 batters in a game as opposed to giving up 6 home runs in a game?
  19. Because Dusty volunteered to lose the NL Central earlier this year. (This has been posted already this year but it doesn't get old.)
  20. It definitely contradicts every other poll I've seen so far. They play each other really early in the year as I recall. September 16. For the record, Auburn is taking the SEC this year.
  21. I would like to see him get a couple more starts with the Cubs if possible.
  22. Haha. That's awesome. He get's the pie in the face and continues the interview and a few fans were laughing at the incident.
  23. I have the same stance.
  24. Seconded. As much as I like the guy, I don't want to see him back this year. Just rest the wrist and come back next year. That being said, if they do bring him back this year, I hope he does well and looks like the 2005 DLee again.
  25. That's what I thought also. Here's the original story.
