  1. I'll be flipping back between this game and MNF.
  2. What if it was Ditka vs the Cubs.
  3. I looked at the results and I have myself at 5-9 right now and not 4-10. I bolded the games I got correct. If I missed something, please correct me. And I would be in favor of getting universal lines each week. It doesn't matter where it's from as long as we are all basing our picks off of the same spreads.
  4. Wow, I didn't realize he was 30 years old already. He's put up solid numbers for a SS, last year was a great year for him. He's a career .300/.343/.795 and is sitting at .311/.352/.805 this year. I think it would take a little more than Marshall and Izturis, but it might be worth looking into. I've always been a Michael Young fan as well but didn't know/think he was 30 years old.
  5. I know there were some photoshopped pictures with brooms in there instead of Barrett's bat that people posted back when the sweep happened. Don't know who posted them though.
  6. I would love to see Maddux make one more start at Wrigley as well.
  7. Bonds hit 73.
  8. They play again tomorrow. Hill vs. Smoltz And tomorrow will be the same result. It will end in another season sweep to another team. We've got Kansas City in our sights.
  9. ND didn't beat any good teams last year and we don't know how good Penn State and Michigan will end up being this year. You can't give a team credit for winning a game early in the season against a highly ranked team if that team ends up having an average year that year. It's just like with Pittsburgh and Michigan last year. Those games looked like big victories and many people continued to mention that Notre Dame beat Michigan when they were ranked #3 in the nation and they beat a ranked Pittsburgh team. Neither of those teams ended up being very good last year so why should ND get credit for beating a good team when said team ends up being no more than an average team. If Penn State finishes the year 5-6, it's obvious that ND's victory over them wasn't actually that impressive. I would argue that Notre Dame's victory over PSU is still pretty impressive even if they finish 5-6, just not as impressive. It doesn't get much more one-sided than 41-3. So, how impressive is Auburn's win over Miss St or LSU's over Arizona? We don't know. What if Arizona finishes 4-7 and Penn State finishes 5-6? Which team's victory was more impressive? That's why it's stupid to start clamoring about strenght of schedule after two [expletive] games! Couldn't agree more.
  10. I always, always suck in the early season, then always figure things out and end up slightly above .500 for the season. I don't really get it. It's much harder to tell what teams are good early in the season. I imagine most people follow the same trend you do. I usually do the same thing as well and I'll agree with Banedon on the reason why.
  11. I am suprised that Gameday is broadcasting from the USC-Nebraska game instead of the LSU-Auburn game. They must not have received the memo that Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart don't play for USC anymore.
  12. Bringing up the rear. Hey, somebody's got to do it. Now I have one more thing in common with the Cubs.
  13. If you are going to schedule a game against a good opponent, it's better to do it early in the year than late in the year because you have time to bounce back and recover from your loss. With the way the polls are, you know other teams are going to lose and will drop behind you.
  14. I'm not really sure what to make of Montana State. First they go to Colorado and beat the Buffalos but the very next week they play D-II Chadron State at home and lose. Hopefully UC Davis can bounce back from being flattened by TCU 46-13.
  15. I completely agree. The fake punt is the only thing I had a problem with.

  17. Excellent.
  18. Scratch him off the MVP candidates list.
  19. Welcome to the club.
  20. It's looking like that's where the game is headed.
  21. Mark McGwire had some insane HR:2B ratios as well late in his career. In 2001, his last season, he hit 29 HR's and had just 4 2B's.
  22. Still think so? 19-27, 230 yards, 2 TD in the first half and he has 23 yards rushing As a Bears fan I can only hope Rex can be as "not sharp," as Brady was in the first half, in the entire game tomorrow. Not anymore. But when I wrote that it was 6-0 and his stats weren't very good at that point.
  23. Who kidnapped the Oklahoma defense and who are these guys playing in their place?
  24. Brady Quinn is not looking very sharp today.
  25. Paul Thompson is not a good quarterback.
