It will all be over in about 24 hours.

2019 was a bad collapse too. With 12 games left, the Cubs were 2 games back of the Cardinals in the division, 1/2 game back of Wash for the first WC and 1 game up on Mil for the second WC. They proceeded to lose 9 straight games, the first of which was by 2 runs and the next 5 all by 1 run. Four of those 1 run games were to the Cards.

A part of me is convinced that the Angels are nothing more than the West Coast Mets and that if you get Trout out of there, he’ll play 145 games each of the next four years.

It's Sunday night. The Cubs have missed out on the playoffs. Tom: This isn't the time to hang our heads and give up guys. I know it seems bleak but just remember that we're tied for first place in the 2024 NL Central right now. Lot of baseball left to be played.

I can’t imagine a scenario where another loss in the next 5 days is more painful than last night. Like if a team gets a walkoff hit, that’s baseball. But I can’t remember the last time a fielder just straight up missed a fly ball when he didn’t either lose it in the lights/sun or was at a full sprint. And then to have it when it did puts it over the top.
