  1. Bam and Jimmy 5-28 so far tonight. Not great.
  2. Not too surprising since it’s their worst season points wise since 10-11.
  3. Looks like they briefly had a lifeline as Bayern was tied for about 8 minutes. Not anymore though.
  4. LOL Dortmund down 2-0 at home in the first half.
  5. Nice to be on the opposite side of one of these where in this case we won 2 of 3.
  6. Ken Griffey Jr is the 4th highest paid player for the Reds this year. As part of his contract, he got just under $3.6M in deferred money each year through 2024.
  7. I looked up 3 recruiting sites and he’s ranked 19, 21 and 26. Seems like a bit of a stretch to say he’s going to be a top-14 pick. He certainly could be, of course. But he’s not even in the top-14 among incoming freshman and that doesn’t account for any Euro guys or So/Jr/Sr who might be lottery picks also. He’s going to have to make a leap at USC this year.
  8. I think it’s going to be similar to the 2020 Finals for Miami. Denver is on a heater right now and it’s going to take something special from Miami to beat them.
  9. Like you said, it will eventually. But this could be a Brady like trajectory. There are the reports that he spends $1M per year on his body. And certainly some injury luck involved too. But when you start at such a high peak, and you're fortunate to have smoothed the aging curve better than anyone else has in your sport, you can still be at 80-85% (or whatever it is) of what you once were. And whatever percentage of LeBron that is, it's still a very, very good player even at his age. That being said it's super impressive that he hasn't had some huge dropoff. It's more of just little dropoffs here and there. He can't go all out all the time. He's not quite the defender he once was and doesn't get those chasedown blocks with regularity.
  10. Odds are the only players we’ll be trading for in the summer are minor leaguers.
  11. Bayern lose at home to Leipzig meaning Dortmund can win the title by winning their last two games. Can’t wait to see which one they blow.
  12. Ended up as the 6th longest playoff game ever.
  13. According to wikipedia this is the 15th playoff game to go to a 4th overtime.
  14. Our new corporate overlords want to try posting the Game Thread in Chicago Cubs Talk and then move it to the Game Threads forum after the game.
  15. When normal sized people stand next to giants...
  16. Coventry City and Luton Town will play for a spot in the EPL. Coventry hasn’t been in the EPL since the 2000-01 season. Luton was last in the top division in 91-92, the year before the EPL started. From 2010-14 they were in the 5th level of the English pyramid.
  17. Nick Burdi you say... Does he come from Milan?
  18. The Cards have the worst record in the NL despite having a positive run differential.
  19. I’m guessing any effect will be fairly small but I wonder if the more balanced schedule will change this at all. If our division does stink as it appears to, instead of 19 games against each one you only get 12-13. So for the “best” team in the division it could suppress the win total a bit. Doesn’t change the math of the pace the Cards need to play at just to get to 88 wins of course.
  20. CUBS are 19-22 this year CUBS are 5-9 in May CUBS are 8-11 on the road CUBS are 4-2 on Tuesdays CUBS are 6-2 when Steele starts CUBS are 334-381 all time against the Astros Go CUBS!!!!
  21. Wacha no-hitter through 7 for the Padres. He's at 101 pitches so we'll see if they leave him out there. EDIT: First hitter in the 8th breaks it up.
  22. I got it at +600 after Game 1 of the series. Was more of an emotional hedge bet but also our division sucks and 87 wins might win it.
  23. Someone else can start it. I won’t have time before then. I’ll go after the next loss.
