That Brewers series will likely go one of two ways. If it matters to the Brewers, it likely means both teams played at least fairly well and then both are probably in the playoffs. If it doesn’t matter to the Brewers then it means that they probably wouldn’t pitch any of their good starters much at all since the WC round starts on a Tuesday and the season ends on Sunday. So whoever they want to pitch Tuesday won’t pitch in the series and whoever they want to pitch Wednesday likely won’t either. Their good relievers won’t pitch much either. There is a small chance both the Cubs and the Brewers struggle and neither has a playoff spot or the division clinched.

Even if you bump that a bit to 86, that means 10-10. Get 2 of the remaining 5 against Arizona, 6 of 9 against Col and Pit and then 2 of 6 against Atl and Mil to end the year.

Maybe. But I feel like this is a bit of hindsight. If Ross leaves Taillon in and he gives up a couple runs it’s “why let the guy with a 5.5 ERA go the third time through the order”.

Not worried about Miami at all. Their next 10 games are Philly, Milwaukee and Atlanta. Then they play the Mets before getting the Brewers again. So unless they sweep Atlanta and the Mets while splitting the other games, if they get hot they’ll be helping us. We’re 4 up on Arizona so they probably have to go 5-2 against us to have a shot at overtaking us..

First sweep of a 3+ game series since June 19-21 over Pittsburgh which is pretty crazy since we’ve only lost a couple series the past two months.

Milwaukee should have had two on at the end. The last pitch to Contreras was clearly outside.
