  1. Notre Dame probably deserved to be higher as well. Both Lunardi and Mandel had them as a #4.
  2. Notre Dame got burned with Winthrop in the first round.
  3. Wow. Old Dominion vs Butler in the first round as a 5-12 matchup.
  4. Well, if you get the 2 seed with Kansas, it might be just as well if you're out there. Florida as the #1 overall just makes no sense. Yes, they dominated SEC West teams in the conference tournament, and they dominated the SEC overall, but the SEC simply wasn't that good this year. OSU should have been the #1 overall seed. Florida as the top seed is crazy. But like you said, UCLA will likely be the top #2 seed so they won't have Florida or North Carolina in their region. Also, this could mean a Florida/UNC - Georgetown region.
  5. Is that official? EDIT: Nevermind.
  6. Arkansas has a better case than KSU, sorry. Arkansas got beat by Mizzou BAD (We beat you 2x) and by Tech, who we just beat by 21..... Arkansas only has 2 road wins all year. Not deserving over a 4th place team in a major conference who beat Texas on the road, and just beat a team that is considered by many to be a "lock" by 21 pts. Sorry... I really don't think that a team should be considered for an at-large spot in the tournament if they can't even finish .500 or better in their conference.
  7. Huge block by Darnell Jackson and he makes 2 free throws to all but wrap up the game. Er, Abrams hits a 3 to bring Texas within 2 with 8.3 left. Part of me wants this game to go to another overtime.
  8. That changed since I made my post about who was in and out an hour ago and like you said, Arkansas wasn't even one of the last 4 out.
  9. Yeah, everybody knew the ball was going to Durant. The least Texas could have done was have Augustine drive in and either go for a short jumper/layup if he's open or if the defense collapses, he kicks it out to somebody else.
  10. Chalmers hits a three to tie the game at 79 with 13.8 seconds left. EDIT: And Durant misses a fadeaway and we're going to OT.
  11. I've been watching Kansas-Texas but I assume Wisconsin hasn't looked too good in the game? How has OSU looked?
  12. Lunardi's last four in are Purdue, Stanford, Drexel, and Kansas State while his last four out are Old Dominion, Illinois, Florida State, and Air Force. Stewart Mandel from CNNSI has Stanford, Texas Tech, Illinois, and Drexel in the tourney and Kansas State, Purdue, Arkansas, and Air Force out.
  13. Easily the funniest thing Maddux has said. And it will never get old.
  14. I like what I'm seeing out of Kansas right now. I realize they're down 10 and were down almost 20 earlier but that was with Durant being himself (i.e. superhuman). They weathered the storm and now have Texas lead down to 7. EDIT: KU down only 5 at halftime.
  15. Right now: Kevin Durant 21 Kansas 15 EDIT: I'm thinking Durant hits 40 if Kansas can keep the game close.
  16. Great, Billy Packer is announcing the Wisconsin-OSU game. Exactly who I wanted to hear.
  17. Durant has 8 points including 2 3-pointers already. EDIT: 12 points in just 7 minutes and Texas is up 15 on KU.
  18. They always call things like that. On a drive when the defender jumps in the air, the offensive guy jumps into him and gets the foul call. If there is contact and both are in the air, the foul is called on the defender.
  19. UNC is now up 14 and ready to run away with this thing.
  20. Al Horford just limped off with an ankle/knee injury when an Arkansas player ran into his leg. Didn't look bad but didn't look too good either.
  21. The conference tournaments don't matter as much for the higher seeds and the top seeds aren't going to drop too much with an early round loss (i.e. UCLA is only going to drop to a 2 if they drop at all). But the conference tournament does matter a ton for the lower seeds. Just last year Syracuse went from being a bubble team to a #5 seed (complete crap FTR) because they won 4 games in 4 days to win the Big East tournament. That's where the media gets the thought that the conference tournaments mean so much. Obviously for most teams, it doesn't mean that much but it has the potential to (and that's outside of a team gaining an automatic berth when they wouldn't have had a chance at an at large).
  22. I would think that if Kansas wins they'll get a #1 seed especially if OSU loses to Wisconsin because they would be the top team in the final polls. OSU is also a lock. If Wisconsin and Florida both win, I think they get #1's and UNC will get left out win or lose. If either Wisconsin or Florida loses their final and UNC wins the ACC, I think UNC gets the final #1 seed. UNC might have no chance as they have 6 losses. And I agree that UCLA will not get a #1 seed unless a couple of UNC, Florida, Kansas, and Wisconsin lose.
  23. Finally saw the ending of the MAC championship game and I have to wonder, how on earth did the referee's end up with 0.6 seconds left on the clock. That made absolutely no sense. I could see 0 and I could somehow (albeit incorrectly) see 1.2. But 0.6? They're just lucky Miami didn't get burned at the end with the extra time that was put back on the clock.
  24. Nice to know you have magical insights into the future. The fact is that, other than a #16 seed beating a #1 seed, anything can and has happened in the tournament. Well, Kansas is a 1 seed this year. =D> Very nice.
  25. Who's Mark Buehrle? Hey, somebody had to make the joke.
