  1. I'll predict a 75-67 OSU win.
  2. That means he had Tommy John surgery.
  3. I refuse to get my hopes up about this. It's hard but I'm trying. It will only make it that much sweeter if he is healthy and pitching well.
  4. Z needs his in game hitting practice.
  5. Yeah, unless they upgrade that offensive line I can't see any QB succeeding there-I doubt they will able to be trade down (the #1 pick is usually seen as too expensive unless there is a sure-fire person at the top) but they do need to build the line through either later picks or free agency. with no obvious guy at #1, why wouldn't the Raiders just take Joe Thomas if that 's a need? As you said, I don't know of any team that is clamoring for Quinn or Russell to the point that they'll trade multiple picks just to move up a few slots Two words: Calvin Johnson. Get rid of Moss for whatever a team will give you - some team will give up a second rounder for him. Draft Calvin Johnson #1 overall. Draft Drew Stanton with either the #1 second round pick, mid second rounder or #1 third rounder (depending on where he might go) and then pick a couple O-line.
  6. Definitely good to hear. The last thing the Cubs needed was for Hill to get stuck in the pen or at AAA.
  7. Throw strikes. What a novel idea. Who knew it could be so simple?
  8. I especially like that right when they started putting the Yankees on the cover was exactly when the Yankees stopped winning World Series' (at least temporarily, knock on wood).
  9. Im pretty sure that guy in the middle is not Kerry Wood. Definitely not Kerry Wood. That's Wade Miller. Yeah, looks like Miller to me.
  10. Who are your ones then? Please say Kansas. well, KU has a better resume than OSU. But I'd go Fla, UCLA, UNC, Wiscy. aTm or KU have a chance if they win out and one of those teams really stumbles. Those are my four right now too. But there are a couple of teams that could slide in if UNC or Wisc loses their conference tourney. Pitt, if they won the Big East Tourney would have an outside shot, and Kansas, who has already beaten a number 1 team this year when they beat Florida would have a shot. A team I think will do some serious damage, and could possibly sneak into a number 1 slot (with A LOT of help), would be Georgetown. They are probably the hottest team in the country right now. I would think that UCLA, UNC, and Florida are all but locks right now barring a collapse down the stretch or an early exit in the conference tourney. UNC is probably the most likely of those to drop since they have 4 losses while the other two have 3. And right now I would give Wisconsin the fourth over OSU because of the head to head victory for the Badgers but that could change on Sunday. If Wisconsin wins that though I would think they will lock up a #1 seed.
  11. i was watching when this happened. he looked like he was in extreme pain. he was sobbing on the bench before they wheeled him out. Yeah, it didn't look like that bad of an injury, but he was in such obvious pain on the bench. Imagine being wheelchaired out due to a shoulder injury. Sometimes it's just a freak injury where a guy gets caught at just the right spot at the right angle. I'm not sure if anybody remembers this but Jermaine Dye broke his leg a few years ago when he fouled a ball off of himself. Guys do that all the time (the fouling the ball off themselves part) and generally just get a bruise but Dye broke his leg.
  12. Penn State went on a 14-2 run to take an eight point lead over Ohio State in the first half in Columbus.
  13. Excellent start in the Chelsea-Porto game. It's 1-1 just 16 minutes into the game.
  14. Dusty stands behind Danny Almonte and thinks that New York team shouldn't have had to forfeit.
  15. 2006: 29th in OBP, 28th in Runs 2005: 20th in OBP, 20th in Runs 2004: 22nd in OBP, 16th in Runs 2003: 24th in OBP, 20th in Runs Something tells me pitching (namely relying on Wood and Prior) hasn't been the only major problem this team has had over the past four years. Agreed. Relying on Prior and Wood was a big problem but it surely wasn't the only problem the team had the past couple years. You don't finish with the worst record in the NL because you rely on two pitchers and they get hurt. That's right, because if they didn't get hurt, you wouldn't finish anywhere near the bottom. You also wouldn't finish anywhere near the top. If a team finishes in last place because two of their best pitchers got hurt, chances are that team wouldn't even sniff the playoffs if those two players were healthy. The point is, if a team finishes in last place in their league, that team probably sucks.
  16. Ditto on loving to see him do very well. Over/under on when KW replaces Dempster as closer? I'd say May 1st. Will that be before or after his first DL stint of the year?
  17. I have to say, those are pretty funny shirts.
  18. Kentucky was down 16 at one point in the first half and are down only 1 at halftime to LSU.
  19. Upset special at East Lansing. Michigan State leading Wisconsin by 5 with 2 minutes left. Neitzel has 28 including 6-11 from 3 tonight.
  20. 2006: 29th in OBP, 28th in Runs 2005: 20th in OBP, 20th in Runs 2004: 22nd in OBP, 16th in Runs 2003: 24th in OBP, 20th in Runs Something tells me pitching (namely relying on Wood and Prior) hasn't been the only major problem this team has had over the past four years. 21. KenPom Excellent. Thanks.
  22. I know I'm going to end up watching this even though I may not want to. But hey, at least he's not wearing a Cubs uniform again next year.
  23. ARam to avoid free agency as well.
  24. Definitely some good news. EDIT: And thanks to Z for not taking a hard nosed approach and refusing to negotiate.
