  1. I think they should lose just so they can start another 10 game winning streak. I don't think 3 is enough yet.
  2. Get up early? It's on at 2. Are you like me? I live in California so it's on at noon out here. And yes, that would be early considering the last three days I've gotten up sometime between 1 and 130.
  3. I see Bruce!!!! Bruce, sticking your tongue out at Lou? That's no way to start a good professional relationship. By the way, that angle has you dwarfing Paul Sullivan. Which one is Paul Sullivan? I'm not familiar with what the Chicago writers look like besides Bruce and Jay Mariotti.
  4. Can't wait to see the Cubs on TV. I might have to get up early to watch this thing.
  5. Stanford goes down. Good effort but it's too bad they couldn't pull it out.
  6. Well he has been there for like 45 years. Or so it seems.
  7. Following two Arizona free throws, Stanford hits a 3 to tie with 6 seconds left. Arizona misses a shot at the buzzer and we're going to overtime. This would be a huge win for Stanford if they can pull it out.
  8. OSU down 7 with 8:42 left against Michigan. EDIT: Stanford down 3 with 1:30 left.
  9. Stanford was down 19 at halftime (it was 20 late in the first half) and has cut the Arizona lead to 6 with 8 minutes to go.
  10. In ESPN's defense, the Royals wouldn't have received too many votes. We all know Royal fans don't exist.
  11. It sure would be great it he did. I'll take a .900 OPS out of him any day.
  12. It sounded like he did all right-he gave up a couple of hits and a run in the second, but he also struck out two in 2 innings and only had 1 hard hit out. 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K How did we score? Cedeno solo home run, Barrett inside the park home run, Perez sac fly, I forget the other run. Barrett with an inside the park home run? Wow. Did the A's bring the outfielders to the infield for that play?
  13. Oh I agree. Law is unreal. Ohio State is pretty good too and everyone is sleeping on them. I can see OSU leaving early (Sweet 16/Elite 8-ish). Of course I can think of a way any team could be out early, there's no clear cut leader of the pack this year. They are what 15-1 in the big ten. I love how since you are from the big ten you are the team that will go out early. I think they have grown a lot and will be a very, very tough out. I don't see where Raisin said because OSU is from the Big Ten they will go out early. He also says he could see ANY team going out early this year. I was talking more about how everyone has been saying that. Also how weak the Big Ten is even though we could have two 1 seeds. Ah, ok. All I know is, when the time comes to fill out my bracket, I'm going to have a lot of tough decisions to make.
  14. Damn. I wanted the Raiders to sign Garcia in hopes that it would make them rethink their decision to draft Russell #1 overall. Oh well.
  15. For those of us who haven't been following the game, how did Miller look today?

  17. Stanford getting pounded at home against Arizona. This kind of a game is not what their tourney hopes needed.
  18. I don't understand why this is so difficult for people to understand. It's a Page 2 article, poking fun at the GMs that through money around for all sorts of guys this offseason. It's not about the Cubs. It's the comment that closes the article, which specifically calls out the Cubs. Who cares? He only made that comment because the Cubs were the biggest spenders in the offseason. All the guy is saying is that it isn't easy to buy a championship. And he did it after ripping Kevin Malone for the insane contracts he gave out as GM of the Dodgers. EDIT: Not to mention the Cubs did lose 96 games last year and going worst to first isn't exactly a common occurrence.
  19. I didn't know that hitting .284/.342/.901 with 4HR and 18RBI in 48 games is "tearing it up". How are these numbers David Shoenfield? .328/.412/.934 with 3HR 16RBI and 13SB in 53 games? He says Loney's numbers were "tearing it up" in the bigs and says they should've avoided Garciaparra, but make no mention of Theriot's performance in the DeRosa discussion? Ignorance. Yeah, Loney is a highly touted prospect, but he didn't "tear it up" in the bigs. A .901 OPS for a rookie is quite impressive. I realize Loney only got 102 AB's so we're talking a smaller sample size here but I would say Loney tore it up in the majors last year. There were only 30 players in the majors last year who posted a .900+ OPS last year. I know his OBP was about average but his SLG was great.
  20. Diarrhea of the mouth, that doesn't sound good.
  21. There is the possibility, although not likely, that if ARod opts out he might not want to max out his value in a new contract and take a little less money to play somewhere he likes. Not saying it's likely, but it's possible.
