  1. Any potential deal with the Angels has to start with Weaver coming to the Cubs.
  2. I think my heart stopped for a couple seconds when I read the title of the thread.
  3. He also led the league in outs made last year.
  4. Duke drops out of the Coaches Poll They have also dropped out of the AP rankings. Top 5 in the coaches poll are Florida, OSU, Wisconsin, UNC, Pittsburgh. Top 5 in the AP poll are Florida, OSU, Wisconsin, UNC, UCLA. Florida is unanimous in both polls.
  5. I would be willing to bet that, at the start of the road trip, not too many people had the Bulls losing to the Kings and Warriors while beating the Suns.
  6. They'll probably have to win their last four regular season games - which would include two teams ahead of them in the MVC in Creighton and Missouri State - which would have them finishing the regular season at 21-9 overall and 11-7 in conference. They would probably have to win a couple games in the MVC tournament on top of that, to finish 23-10, and even that might not be enough. It's very possible the only way they get in to the tournament is as the MVC tournament champion. Don't forget winning their Bracketbuster game against Appalachian State is a must as well. But I agree. It's highly doubtful that they'll win out in the regular season, so their only way to get in would be to win the conference tournament. I was including the bracketbuster game in the four regular season games. They have that game and 3 MVC games. But yeah, it's unlikely they win out.
  7. Definitely a winnable game for the Bulls.

  9. The whole Dirk choked/the Mavs gave the Heat the NBA title debate is stupid. Everybody knows it was the refs who gave the series to Miami. If Dirk would have played like Wade, and received the same treatment Wade did, Dirk would have shot at least twice as many free throws as he did.
  10. The Tech guy that took the halfcourt shot had a couple seconds left to dribble and get a better shot. Either way, it's been a very entertaining game, although those waiting for Creighton-Southern Illinois probably aren't too happy.
  11. Didn't this debate already happen a few weeks ago?
  12. Yes. A claim that very few amatuers could (or would) claim. Hey now! I average 72 when I play golf. (on about the first 12 holes) Very nice. And with Federer being claimed as more dominant because of lack of competition... I doubt that. My high school soccer team never had competition, but that's not because we were that good but because of the fact that once my brother graduated all of the talent in our conference disappeared. So is Federer really dominant or is tennis currently filled with a bunch of bad players and Federer is actually just mediocre? You're confusing what being dominant means. Being the most dominant in a given sport is based on how good you are compared to your competition. It doesn't matter if your competition is good or if it sucks. So it doesn't really matter whether Federer's opponents are any better or worse than the opponents of Sampras/Emerson/Borg/etc. What matters is Federer is doing thing that haven't been done before and everybody expects him to win. Arguably, only one guy can touch him right now (Nadal) and that's only on one surface (clay). I'm not going to lie, I don't expect Tiger to lose, but I'm not too surprised when it happens. It's surprising if Federer even loses a set in one of his early round matches in a major now.
  13. That's nuts - especially the fact that two Nuggets players each took more free throws by themselves than the Pacers did as a team. Should be interesting to see how the league handles this.
  14. Meanwhile, out in the best conference in the nation, Arizona just went on a 10-2 run to start the second half to cut Oregon's lead to 2. EDIT: BTW Raisin, since I didn't watch the game, I assume Collison's absence was the cause of UCLA's loss today?
  15. I officially hate both IU and UI. I don't know why you guys (IU and UI fans) even argue against each other over these two teams because you're never going to agree on anything. It's just one insult after another.
  16. Oklahoma's recent football history (last 5-7 years) is much better than Notre Dame's. However, let's not forget that Oklahoma sucked throughout much of the 1990's and has only regained prominence over the last several years. Notre Dame has accomplished more in its history than Oklahoma, and its been consistently better over the last 15-30 years. You'll get no arguments from me there. Of course, what you wrote has nothing to do with what I wrote. But good job anyway. Well, you wrote that Notre Dame "never accomplish(es) anything" and that's what he was addressing.
  17. Just an awful game. I'm embarassed that I actually was able to see this game tonight. Once again, we need something much more than jump shooters. When they go cold, they go ice cold. It wasn't just the jump shooters. The Bulls missed numerous layups and putbacks tonight. They didn't play very well at all and it was, at times, an ugly game to watch. Gordon was just horrible tonight. There is no reason to lose a game in which you attempt 30 more shots than the other team and get 21 offensive rebounds.
  18. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z2ZuIXI1VgM So now you're saying it's okay what the newspaper did because of one incident by one player. A little unfair don't you think?
  19. I'd like to say that I completely approve of all of that. It might be funny(ish), but I'd like to see the school paper make better decisions than this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v604/snoodmonger1/KSCS11002080415-1.jpg While you can't really control what the crowd is going to chant during the game, and considering some of them aren't sober, I have to say that I think the newspaper was out of line in printing what they did. It would be one thing for one person to write a column on the subject and use that terminology but for the paper to print a full page spread like that is taking it a too far.
  20. He could have had to change his name to Booger McFarland.
  21. Especially ironic considering McNabb has been called a choker as well.
  22. Not that much better actually. Giants are only averaging 15yds per game more than the Bears. 4.7 YPA, good enough for top 6 in the league, compared to 3.8 YPA, which is bottom 3rd of the league. It's a significant difference. Bottom line is that Grossman is getting extra criticism for losing a game that Eli couldn't even sniff. He'd have been better off if the Bears missed the playoffs. Not only was the NFC East a FAR tougher division than the North was this year, but Rex also had the advantage of having one of the best defenses in the league on his team (5th in ypg, 3rd in scoring defense) while Eli had to deal with one of the worst (25th and 24th in the same categories). Eli had to do much more for the Giants to win and had a much smaller room for error than Rex did.
  23. I just found a highlight video from SportsCenter and not only did they say it was D. Manning who blew the coverage but on one of the highlights it shows #46 (Chris Harris) running close to the endzone along with Charles Tillman. The free safety bit so hard there is no way he could be anywhere near the endzone when Wayne scored. Tillman was the CB, Manning was the safety that bit (I'm assuming FS) and Harris was the other safety. In short, D. Manning blew the coverage.
  24. I'm pretty sure it was Chris Harris. I remember him talking to peanut after that play. Does anybody have a video of the play? I've looked on youtube and couldn't find anything.
