  1. Marquis is getting $7 million per. Can't skip him. Teams never skip the #3 starter anyway.
  2. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070219/capt.flrb21102192103.cardinals_spring_baseball_flrb211.jpg I wonder how serious Jim Edmonds was when he asked me out on a date.
  3. Real big game tonight. Lots of shuffling going on in the middle of the Big 12, hopefully Mizzou can get their 3rd in a row against an OU team that hasn't fared very well on the road. Lunardi is normally very, very good with his predictions. I'd really like to believe that the Big 12 has that much weight, if for nothing else that it keeps a shred of hope that Mizzou could get an at-large with a miracle spurt to end the season, but I don't think that's the case. The Big 12 is down this year, 7th in RPI(just below the Valley and above the Mountain West) among conferences, and I'm not sure if KSU is guaranteed a spot considering some of the other conference crunches, unless they beat one of the other 3 tourney teams(KU, aTm, Texas) in the conference tourney. Where do you find the conference RPI? I found each team's RPI on a couple sites but have been unable to find the conference rankings.
  4. Arsenal-PSV about to start.
  5. But the real question is how many runs will the winning team drive in with their gloves?
  6. ahh I was just going to post about Costanza but didn't he switch to Cotton? Correct sir.
  7. Yeah, I really dont know why I put this in this section. Oh well. They will soon be a rival. If by soon you mean never then yes, soon.
  8. Noah existed. The ref has to handle the ball first, so no matter who's holding it there's no reason for Noah to flip out and try to get it back. Then there's the matter of it being the opposing coach with the ball, which anyone with a modicum of common sense knows you don't instigate anything with during the game. PS- I thought I already made this post, but apparently I didn't. So if you see something similar in a Soriano thread or something, there you go. The coach didn't have to slap Noah's arms away and that's when Noah flipped out. There was no reason for the coach to do that.
  9. "The Cubs have not established any rules regarding jacuzzis." I like it.
  10. I just saw Joakim Noah's incident with the Vandy coach from Saturday and I have to say, Noah didn't do anything wrong there. The Vandy coach had no reason to hang on to the ball there.
  11. The Cubs had better not trade Jacque to sign Steve Finley. It would be such a horrible idea.
  12. That number seems a bit high. You must be including all the White Sox fans who are in prison.
  13. I didn't think it was Wuertz, but it does resemble Eyre http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/5869.jpg Either way, it's good to see the guys laughing instead of on crutches. EDIT: Now that I look at it closer, it does look more like Miller than anyone else. But I thought I saw him on the news with no facial hair yesterday. I was probably wrong though. Wouldn't the guy need to be a bit heavier to be Eyre? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  14. Wade Miller Is that what the caption says? Yup. I'm not sure that's Miller. They showed him throwing on the news last night, and he looked to have short hair, and no facial hair. I could be wrong though. http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/7306.jpg Wuertz http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/6270.jpg Miller It looked like Miller to me.
  15. Although that lean and mean part doesn't apply to Piniella. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070219/capt.azmg20102191830.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg201.jpg
  16. That's how it should be. Wisconsin beat OSU in their only matchup and have one less loss. The coaches have Ohio State at the top followed by Wisconsin. They're followed by Florida, UCLA, and UNC in both polls. Link to polls. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset or surprised if OSU was first in both polls. Most of the poll stuff is just a product of who lost last. Yeah, I realize that. And going back to think about it, using my logic from before, I would put Florida at #2 ahead of OSU. I'm really looking forward to the OSU-Wisconsin game this Sunday. Should be very good.

  18. winrar. type it into yahoo search, just another version of zip I think he means, and this is my question as well, how do you update an XBox game?
  19. I will be none too pleased if Wuertz starts the year at AAA.
  20. This may be more that The Powers That Be see DeRosa as a better RF backup or platoon option since he has experience there. I've heard that he has a good outfield arm. It would make more sense to have him play RF and Theriot 2B than the reverse if you want them both in the lineup. Eric Patterson will hopefully earn a look later this season. I'm all for positional flexibility when it makes sense. That's true, and I could see Piniella putting DeRosa in RF over Jones with Theriot coming in to play 2b against lefties. Man this team really needs another infielder. Theriot's sample size isn't really all that small. He's definitely earned an opportunity to show what he can do. Theriot just turned 27 in December, so it's not really fair to say he didn't make it until age 27. Brian Giles was 25 when he got his first decent sample size at the major league level. Paul LoDuca? 27. I'm sure there are many others. Will Theriot have an OBP over .400? Absolutely not. But, the guy gets on base at a very respectable level. 53 games is not a full season, but it's not just a total fluke either. DeRosa in RF while Theriot plays 2b against LHP is, IMO, a whole lot better than DeRosa at 2b, Jones in RF and Theriot on the bench. Ryan Howard was 24 when he saw his first time but didn't get full playing time until 25. And he didn't play his first full season until last year at 26. Not that Theriot is going to be Ryan Howard part II or anything.
  21. This guy is a prime candidate for a ban. Book it!!
  22. I agree. Guzman I could see, but not with Hill pitching as well as he did last year at the ML level. I just don't see Hendry parting with Hill. Well, barring a blockbuster trade that nets the team a star a la ARod. But I don't see Hendry going out and actively shopping Hill.
  23. Same here. I'm trying my hardest not to get my hopes up this year although it's quite tough. Can the season just start already.
  24. Huge 88-69 win for Stanford. They needed to pull off an upset in one of their last few games here. Their resume is looking better and better for the tournament.
  25. Might want to check your math there, that's only a 43 point win. Not that a 43 point win is anything to scoff at. I mis-typed the score. 92-39. 53 point win. Ah. Guess I could have looked it up on ESPN. :D
