  1. I'm the opposite. Couldn't be any less interested. Didn't care about the Club World Cup when it was in the middle of the season and don't care about it now. I really don't like that they just keep loading up the players with more and more games and I wish a bunch of them would have just said "fuck off and fine me, I'm taking a summer break". The guys who play for top clubs and their national teams basically have no break. They're either in season with their club, playing in a summer tourney for their national team (or now, their club) or doing some preseason tour with their club team to get ready for the next season. The fact that it's mostly on another streaming service that I'm not going to pay for makes it even easier to ignore. To each their own of course, and by no means am I telling you to not watch or that you shouldn't be watching. I just have no desire to tune in.
  2. Haliburton played 7 minutes and scored as many points as Nesmirh, Turner and Toppin combined. Those three vombined to average 36 ppg in the playoffs. Haliburton also led Indy in 3 pointers made yesterday.
  3. OKC might have won anyway but it's hard to believe this would have happened had Haliburton not gotten hurt. Indy scored at least 104 in each of the first 6 games and might not get to 90 today. The only guy to score in the last 12 minutes of game action for Indy is McConnell, and he's currently their leading scorer.
  4. Indy fading.
  5. Haliburton just blew his Achillies. Calf injury turns to achillies just like KD.
  6. Or maybe don’t throw a fastball right over the middle of the plate.
  7. Normal day Happ catches that thing 20 feet before the warning track.
  8. If he wants to keep it for the 9th that's fine with me.
  9. Did a pretty good job of that yesterday and it didn't go too well. Cubs clearly trying a different approach today.
  10. Man Raleigh was 100% not expecting a fastball there.
  11. 0-14 against lefties this year then rips a 109 (I think) for a hit off a lefty.
  12. According to Fangraphs, the last four seasons, with bases empty and 2 outs, teams scored 0.1 runs on average. With a runner on 1st with 2 outs, its 0.63. That means for those five innings where Seattle scored 9 runs, their total run expectancy after getting to 2 outs was 0.63.
  13. I’m trying to decide what’s more annoying, this or that Mitch Garver hit 2 home runs today despite having a .569 OPS and 1 HR in 129 PAs coming into today.
  14. Maybe not a good idea to throw a middle middle fastball to the guy with 29 home runs this year.
  15. I have no idea what to expect in G7. Logic says the Thunder will play better, they won't be terrible from 3 and they'll force some turnovers, but I'm prepared for just about any result. A blowout either way would shock me but that's about it.
  16. Wasn't his home run 400+ feet to left/leftcenter? Pretty sure that's going to be a home run everywhere.
  17. Lol, Bettman says as he’s giving the Cup out that winning it twice in a row is next to impossible. Except that three teams have done it in the last decade.
  18. The formula would probably be -PCA goes 40-40 or really close -Ohtani struggles a bit on the mound -Ohtani doesn't hit 60 dongs or close to it. He's not stealing as many bases as last year so if Ohtani "only" ends up with like 47 dongs and 30 SB's, it could be seen as a step back. PCA being absurd in the field while having a monster year at the plate is a poor man's version of Ohtani being an All-Star pitcher and hitter. They're basically tied in both versions of WAR at the moment so it's a dead heat. But if Ohtani is his old self on the mound, it's probably a wrap.
  19. The exact records changed a bit since you posted this but put a different way, 9 of the next 28 games are against teams that are 3 or more games over .500 (Mil, Hou, NYY). The other 19 games are against teams between 0 and 2 games over .500.
