  1. Bruce, who's your choice amongst the available candidates?
  2. The Sox deal matches up with the Yankees' needs. I would think teams might be a little hesitant on Crede until they find out details on his back. If his back is okay, this would be a good deal for both teams. As others have posted, the Cubs would need a third team to obtain ARod. The only other deals I can think of: (1) Florida sends Cabrera and Willis to NYY, Yanks send ARod to Third team, and third team sends a boatload of excellent prospects or cheap players to Florida. But, who is that 3rd team? Angels? Dodgers? Padres? (2) Seattle trades Beltre and Felix Rodriguez. The CW is that ARod would veto a trade to a West Coast team. I think the only way the Yanks would trade ARod without getting back a 3B in the deal would be for Aramis to become a free agent. If the Yanks signed Aramis, I think they would trade ARod for just pitching - that's just a hunch. The Padres don't have the prospects for such a trade.
  3. I haven't been able to find audio for the games, let alone video, so I don't think so. Uhh, the one and only John Koronka is starting against Mesa. Scott Moore (3B) is batting cleanup, Jake Fox © fifth and EPatt was dropped to the 9th spot in the lineup.
  4. Rothschild returning is a slam dunk if Sweet Lou is manager.
  5. 25 per day... that's a tall order. Just filter the crap out and read the rest...oh wait, then you wouldn't need to read a single post of his.
  6. Yes, but only if the Padres grant permission for the Cubs to talk to him. Bah, c'mon Padres.
  7. The chat is at 2 pm ET/1 pm CT/11 am PT. Ask many Cubs-related questions here.
  8. Sheesh, the top 7 were DBacks, Angels or Dodgers: link. Very promising words about Felix: 16 seems a bit low for Hill:
  9. And Casey McGehee has turned up on the Tomateros de Culiacan. They lost their opener to Mazatlan tonight, 10-5. Casey started at third base and batted 6th: box score. 1/3, 2B (1), RBI (1), BB, K, E (1, throw)
  10. Frankly, it seems a bit early for either KC or Tampa to fall in love with a specific player. They might favor one, but there's a lot of time for a lot of stuff to happen.
  11. Mesa wins 3-0, box 2B E. Patterson 1/4, R, bunt single 1B S. Moore 1/1, 2B (1), RBI (1) C J. Fox 0/1, K RP L. Holdzkom 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 2 K/0 BB, 1 GO-0 FO, 8 pitches (7 strikes) RP C. Rapada 0.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 K/1 BB, 0 GO-0 FO, 11 pitches (4 strikes) Dodgers' prospect Chin Lung Ho left with a wrist injury after being hit by a pitch.
  12. Me too, but I'm afraid of Piniella.

  14. I agree, soccer10k.
  15. No, there's quite the Tiger contingent in here. But Geech, soccer10k, Brian and I are going for the A's. C'mon, Loiza.
  16. He won't be throwing 100 with ease in a few years. But there's this guy: http://www.newsobserver.com/media/2006/10/10/16/brackman.embedded.jpeg He topped out at 101 earlier this summer...and he's 6'10".
  17. They did, in 2001: http://www.fanforhire.com/images/mprior.jpg
  18. He had basically two different seasons last year. The first few months, he was struggling to hit .200, his power was down and he couldn't take a walk to safe his life. Then, his power went through the roof, he started hitting in the .300s (there was a question of how sustainable that BA was since his BABIP was ridiculous), still wasn't walking all that much but had started taking more pitches and going deeper into ABs. He credited his change to a change in his swing. He still has major issues with breaking balls and has poor plate discipline. He also has prodigous power. I (and others) don't think he'll make succeed in the big leagues, as he has struggled to make adjustments at A-ball and the pitchers get smarter at AA and AAA and throw better breaking balls. Here's an interesting threadfrom earlier in the season on Harvey (Premium), around the time he caught fire. He'll probably start next year at AA Tennessee, he's probably somewhere in the 8-15 range in terms of top Cub prospects (in a weak farm system).
