  1. Sigh. Hope the Sun Times is wrong.
  2. Lincoln Holdzkom has routinely been hitting 94 and his slider has been very strong.
  3. http://www.goatriders.org/archives/2006/10/chicago_cubs_manager_bruce_bochy.html Alrighty then.... The PH thing is a fair criticism, but hit-and-run/small-ball comment is a bit puzzling.

  7. Let's just say this isn't the first time a plane has overrun the runway at Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena. It's one of the least safe airports in the country, and they can't expand it because the folks who live nearby whine too much about it. Good thing our SS for next year is safe and sound. :)
  8. Frankly, I'm not a fan of the city of Detroit either. Can we just get rid of all three (the Tigers can move to Lansing and I'd be cool with them winning the WS). Of course, if I am getting a say in the matter, I'd have preferred the Cubs to have won the last 98 World Series.

  16. Nothing wrong with that. Keeps the hitter's guessing. Yes and no. Having that many pitches can cause some issues in execution. I wouldn't think there would be too many nights where he would have control of each and every one of those. Maybe he would be more effective if he cut some of those out and focused on 3-4 of them, perfecting them as much as possible. As far as keeping hitter guessing, it is really a matter of fastball vs. offspeed. You recognize offspeed that it can be anything from a changeup, curveball, slider, etc. I don't think you can guess curveball, slider, etc. You can key off of offspeed vs fastball though, including cutters. Thats Weaver style though. Thats what got him into the big leagues. I dont have a problem with throwing so many pitches at different arm angles. Develop your own style. If you look at all the pitchers in the major leagues, none throws exactly the same way. I tghink you're missing the point. It's not that he has his own style, but that by doing so many things ok, he doesn't have a chance to do a few things very well...which would give him more success.
  17. You still post here? I know, burnt is the new CT.

Patterson 0/5, RBI (1) RP C. Pignatiello 0.2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 K/0 BB, 0 GO-0 FO, 14 pitches (10 strikes), 2-1 inherited runners-scored AFL Season to Date: Scott Moore: 2/9, 2 doubles, 2 BB, 3 K Jake Fox: 1/5, 0 BB, 1 K Eric Patterson: 1/12, 0 BB, 0 K - only hit was a bunt single Carmen Pignatiello: 1.2 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 3 K/1 BB
