  1. will the brewers still be over .500 by the end of the season?
  2. coming in hot with the first post
  3. I really have no problem going into next year with basically what we started this year with, but Montgomery and Quintana replacing Lackey and Arrieta. If you can sign Otani, bonus. Look to bolster the ration at next years trade deadline. that's still only four starters though.
  4. lmao jesus christ
  5. i listened to the start of this game on the radio, and Pat had the night off. Grote was doing play-by-play and Coomer was doing color, and it was perfectly fine. they should stick with this arrangement in the 5th inning.
  6. jeff sullivan is infinitely better than dave cameron.
  7. trading all your draft picks and good players for trash is a really interesting rebuild strategy. can't wait to see if it pays off.
  8. 99% sure it's Midnights EST, needs to be on the roster before Sept 1 to be postseason eligible radio is acting like it's 3pm central like the other deadline, but i don't think that's right trades can still happen even into september. to be eligible for the playoffs, a player needs to be in the organization by september 1. so the deadline would technically be midnight, i believe.
  9. brewers seem to be prospect clutching right now and almost certainly won't be taking on all of his salary, so. astros seem like a strong possibility, maybe the yankees? rangers (maybe more for the next couple seasons than this one)?
  10. just have avila convince his dad to help out his new team.
  11. imagine not having to see lackey's stupid mug on the mound again.
  12. yeah what's even the point of Verlander without Upton, Avila and Justin Wilson. give him to us.
  13. i don't think us or the nats are going to catch them in the standings unfortunately I assume he meant after we sweep the Nats.
  14. 14 y.o. me was really bummed when they had to get rid Cairo and Robert Machado because of a roster crunch. I was crushed when Patterson blew out his knee. He was having a great season. oh absolutely. i remember feeling like he was carrying the team leading up to that injury.
  15. Oh, the days when we were excited about Felix Pie. Dark, dark days horsefeathers, i was excited about miguel cairo and robin jennings at one point 14 y.o. me was really bummed when they had to get rid Cairo and Robert Machado because of a roster crunch.
  16. meh. they'll just use the money to give tommy pham and paul dejong extensions or something.
  17. i really need quintana to go on a run of excellence starting tonight, mostly because i'm sick of listening to people irl whine about the trade. do it for me, jose.
  18. I don't believe he is our best SS going forward. At least not in terms of offensive upside. I believe J. Baez can be just as good as A. Russell on defense if he cleans up a few things. He has unquestionably the strongest arm on the team. He makes plays no one else can make, including A. Russell. J. Baez is improving and getting better... I can't say the same thing for A. Russell. I really haven't seen any improvements from A. Russell at the plate or in his approach. I really doubt he improves much beyond hitting for more power. He should be getting better, but I'm almost positive his scouting report says "Don't throw him a fastball in the zone" and "really struggles to hit good breaking pitches inside and outside the zone". I mean the same thing can be said for Baez too. Baez is showing some improvement, but occasionally regresses and goes back into his bad habits. Look, I'm fine with keeping him (Russell). I said he's still super valuable because of his defense and power at SS, but I think Baez is better and has better chance of reaching his ceiling now. No harm in exploring trades for this kind of talent. I never said T. Turner for A. Russell...I said for a "T. Turner + J. Ross" type package. Personally, I do like T. Turner more than A. Russell as well, but I doubt Washington would even consider doing a Turner for Russell 1-for-1 swap. T. Turner is the better player and has a much higher upside IMO. I have no problem trading Russell for prospects, but they would have to be excellent consensus Top 100 prospects. you accidentally called a. russell by just his last name a couple times, please consider editing oh thanks i was so confused which Russell he was referring to there.
