Yes, you get the opportunity to pick a 25 man roster each round. Last year they took out a position player for another reliever for the NLCS, probably because of the 5 to 7 game series shift. so you're telling me lackey is probably safe?

my NBC sports app cut out in the middle of this interview. I missed the bit at the end but was thinking the same thing. I just rewatched it in its entirety and this is so damn funny. he never breaks character. it's almost as funny as the time he complained about maddon taking starting pitchers out early after he got ejected from the game.

man, i know lester has struggled mightily for much of this season, but i guess i hadn't appropriately recalibrated my expections of him. it's crazy that there's even a discussion of him versus lackey, but yeah, i guess you have to consider it if he doesn't round into form. ultimately, though, i don't actually see lackey starting over him.

so, about that we lead baseball in hitter WAR post-ASB by more than a little bit Cubs 14.8 Indians 13.0 we also lead MLB in both OBP & SLG by a fair amount - .351 team wOBA with Indians following up at .343 and Bryant is striking out at just 17% clip; Will's down under 18% (2nd half) Happ's a +12 UZR/150 CF long-term forecast for this team probably looks even better now than it did before the start of the season, i'd argue that's pretty amazing, given the relative disappointments of Schwarber and Russell this season, as well as the continued nightmare of Jason Heyward.
