  1. eh, that's kind of an obnoxious tone. it's been pretty much exactly one full season since he's come to the cubs. he's been worth 2.6 WAR in that full season. relative to his history where he was pretty consistently hovering around 5 WAR per year, it's fair to have some level of disappointment in what he's been for the cubs, particularly this season.
  2. It was. We had perfect health and returned Schwarber for a full season and we didn't play anywhere near our potential until after the ASB. The whole rotation got hurt at some point or was pitching through it (everyone had velo drops, Jake, Hendricks and Lackey all hit the DL, I don’t recall Lester but maybe he did?), Russell, Willy, Rondon also had injuries also brett anderson. that one really hurt.
  3. Looks like the Orioles had obligatory selections in 2008 (George Sherrill) and 2010 (Ty Wiggington). this must be what it's like to be a fan of another team and read "bryan lahair, 2012 all star" cuz who the horsefeathers is george sherrill?
  4. is this another joke i can't tell
  5. get the horsefeathers out of here with this. Jokes, yo. it was a really bad joke.
  6. There was a way to say this without being a [expletive] Sounds like you need a safe space. The internet may not be for you, little girl. get the horsefeathers out of here with this.
  7. I’ve never been a huge JA Happ fan, but I’m kinda into this, assuming the cost isn’t too high.
  8. But Almora is 8th in PA. that feels about right to me.
  9. the only cub who has played in more games than him this year is javy. this complaint needs to die in a fire.
  10. Honestly, just let him wear it today. Keep him out there til his arm falls off. I’m so sick of this horsefeathers taxing our bullpen.
  11. Two cue shots. Pretty crap luck if you ask me. i'm going to go with mojo's "he sucks until he doesn't" principle, luck be damned.
  12. With the off day tomorrow I’m a little surprised we didn’t just throw Farrell or Underwood out there today to get Jon and the rest of the rotation an extra 1-2 days of rest. But then where would our offense come from? But really, with two days off this week, that should give everyone plenty of rest.
  13. Since May 29, .342 / .381 / .523 (excluding today’s 4-hit game).
  14. Because he stinks Oh, okay. Is a 1.09 FIP bad now? I’m also confused by this. 12 Ks / 0 BBs/ 0 HR, 58% GB rate. His past body of work indicates he is not this good, but he’s been just fine for the Cubs so far.
  15. I mean yeah he needs to be better and he certainly was a horsefeathering idiot at times to put himself in bad spots but I saw some encouraging things and he seemed to be better with not being ridiculously wild. The 3 run inning was a lot of stupid horsefeathers and sequencing that easily could’ve been 0 runs. But yeah he needs to be better no doubt but there were some positive things to take away You keep saying this about the 2nd, but there was just the one pop up where three guys played it tentative to not collide with each other. Unfortunate, but that horsefeathers happens. Everything else was line drives, a BB, and a double that was smoked. He also struck out the pitcher, who he usually walks, so good job there I guess? By the way, I do agree he looked better today and had that nice little string where he looked really sharp. I’m just not excusing him for that 2nd inning.
  16. I don’t know. Sure he looked fine in the middle innings and was more aggressive but you can’t ignore the horsefeathers things he did to allow 7 runs to score. Plenty of horsefeathers pitchers can look good for a couple of innings in a start I mean yeah he needs to be better and he certainly was a horsefeathering idiot at times to put himself in bad spots but I saw some encouraging things and he seemed to be better with not being ridiculously wild. 17. maybe it's my imagination, but i feel like this happens whenever he gets a chance in the rotation. he starts off with a few strong outings and then after a few starts he falls apart a bit.
